Yeah a lad on here has it, wish I hadn't sold it. The Type-R is a great car, but it can't put the same grin on my face.
It maybe ugly to many, but to me it looked awesome!
My only gripe with the Ignis was the ride and the seats... In standard form the ride was acceptable, but lets face it you'll want springs or coilovers to keep the illegal immigrants from out of the wheelarches. Mine was on coilovers and the ride was horrible, you could run over a coin and know...
I agree that the Gti/VTS is the cheap end of the hot-hatch market which justifies itself better, they can and do go as well as most Civics/Clios.
I like the ZS, I've never had chance to thrash one but I'd imagine they're a neat package.
I'm considering a Swift Sport as my next car, stripped...
The 106/VTS is just quicker though isn't it? As a car I've never got on with them, always seem ready to fall apart. Personally there just seems to be much better on the market, although I'll admit that you can pick a decent Gti up cheap.
I worked for a car sales for nearly four years and trust me, cars are a minefield! Just do your homework and take your choice, don't worry about the 'popular factor'!
You buy what you like at the end of the day, and I'm only here offering advice. There's some great cars out there that people don't realise might just be what they're looking for.
Useful info there mate. I think I'd be better off with a camcorder as I have no intentions of taking the camera underwater or mounting it to my helmet. I've seen mounts for trackdays which is all I'll need!
The Mk7 Fiesta ZS is a nice looking car and there's nothing wrong with the old model but they're ten a penny and don't stand out at all, every possible potential modification has been done to death too. Same applies to the Corsa and Polo, but they're not even pretty. I'm having the same issue...
I want a small HD camcorder to make some YouTube videos next year of trackdays, Bmx biking and general larking about. I looked at a GoPro but I'd want the LCD screen too so I can use it like a video-camera. So I'm left with a couple of questions...
- Has anyone seen any tasty deals in the...
GTA 4 lost a bit of the magic, but it's still the best offering until the new one is released. From what I've seen the new one has that bit of something that VC and SA had, and more.
...Because they're not as slow as people think! Mine had coilovers and filter with the rear seats and spare wheel removed, it kept up with Type-R's and Clio Sports up to around 60-70mph no problem. Oh and the Clio 200 was being driven by Warren off here, and he wasn't exactly going slow.
Swift Sport then surely?
- Japanese build quality
- Not bad looking
- Decent tax/economy/insurance
- Great fun to drive
- Reasonably fast
- Within budget
The T-Sport is an undeniably cheap option. If they're anything like an Ignis they're a treat to drive too, with the added bonus of being Japanese. I bet they hardly use any fuel either and go really well for a 1.5, I'd go and look at one.
