I've seen a few people before running standard 15" steel wheels on circuit Clio's. No issues. I assume you'll get a decent stud nut kit to replace the stock bolts? If you haven't get a kit already, check these out on eBay. Made by Bimecc who also make the PMS kits, but without the PMS tax.
After all that great work as well. The extra stress that a track day brings unfortunately kills a lot of these old cars. Hopefully, you don't lose faith and can keep her on the road.
Possible brake switch behind the pedal?
It's a sensor at the end of the day, so if the switch is faulty the ECU maybe thinks the brakes are being applied at the same time as the accelerator, causing it to go into limp mode. There's a guide on here about the brake switch and how to reset it...
Hmmm that's weird. I used to leave my shims in on the race car, and never had an issue running CL6, Pagid RS42, DS1.1......
EDIT. Tell a lie, I had to remove for the Pagid as they didn't quite fit.
With the Black Gold 182 now with its new owner, I can focus solely on the RB and get the paintwork to a high standard.
The car's booked in for work in late January, which was the earliest I could get her in, so I'm going to swap a few interior parts in the interim period.
I'm still on the...
Is Nottingham too far a trek? @MicKPM at Diamond Motors is arguably the best Renault specialist in the country. Website - https://www.diamondmotors.co.uk/
Door cards may also have been off at some point and water is getting through that way.
If all the above fails, check and reseal the door cards with some Butyl Sealant tape.
Those aren’t Turini’s, they’re standard wheels. I’ve got that locking wheel nut key on my Turini’s and standard bolts. I just use a Halfords advance 19mm socket. No issues.
Yes I know, I was weak. It was a few years ago and there weren't really any competitive alternatives. The contract is up in January and the TIVO is going back, so we'll see how i do then.
VM are becoming hardened to “I’m going to cancel blah blah blah”. I’ve been on their Cable network since it was NTL and they happily cancelled my services after I threatened to leave.
I called them back the next day saying I over-reacted 😂 and they reinstated my services.
I’m still paying £20...
Tip* I know you've sorted it now, but the quickest way of getting the old rubbers out of the mounts is to pour some acetone (nail varnish) over the old rubber.
It melts the glue and it just peels off. No more hacking your fingers or mounts with a blade.
So I finally plucked up the courage to let her go. She's sold, pending collection to another CS member.
The plan was to get the belts done, a service and refit the air-con, but my company offered me a stupidly good deal on another car, which will tide me over the winter. It's been a hard...
Honestly I’ve gone from having no wi-fi connectivity upstairs, a buffering TV in the dining room, to full connection all around the house.
A techie at work tried to explain what it does, something to do with wi-fi 6, but it’s the best money I’ve spent.
I’ve bought the 3-pack - Amazon eero 6+...
I was on their 320 GB deal (Hub 3), which was garbage. I quickly realised their hubs are dogshit. My son has the 1TB set up and he said he's lucky if he gets half that.
So I downgraded to the 100MB package (Hub 3), then paid a few hundred quid for 3 x Eero 6 + and built a mesh network. Put the...
My Hub 3 has a permanent red light on as it’s been switched to modem mode. I run the Eero 6 mesh network so the hub 3 is now just a bridge.
You could check if it’s gone into Modem Mode by following these instructions.
A nice day to give the RB a quick check over, assisted by my grand-daughter, before storing her away for winter.
It’s been good to stick a few miles on her and enjoy over the summer, but a new company car means she’ll not see the roads again until spring.
Hopefully, the last few weekends on the house build, then I can start being a car enthusiast again. I've never done a single race meet this year either.
