Honda Civic 2.2 CDTI Type S

Just had the alignment and balancing done, both were out. Alignment is better now, although not perfect due to probably 100k suspension. Vibration wise it's still there so going to replace the pads and the discs and hopefully that sorts it otherwise i'm lost.

Well you can buy the strips i would imagine then its just a bit of wiring. I'm sure the Guru would be able to assist.

    Austin’s Clio dci 100 Initiale

@Austin-182 knock sounds like its the ARB bushes/links should be fairly easy to sort out. If the you change the D bushes yourself they are a bit of a nightmare!

    Power steering

First check would be to remove the reservoir and check for cracks/damage. Also check the lines as they are common to fail. After that could be the pump itself. Would be better in the long run to convert to EPAS.

Instead of a strip, fit some "ambient" lighting that you can change the color, would give it a nice glow and match the more modern cars.

Honda Civic 2.2 CDTI Type S

Got a lot of wheel vibration at motorway speeds, going to get the balancing checked at lunch and hopefully an alignment. Driving me crazy as it going out of alignment pretty much monthly!! I hope it is just the wheel balancing as it was there before, but it was a lot less. Maybe the extra weight...

Yer did think about that, maybe worth checking if the Accord one fits.

Honda Civic 2.2 CDTI Type S

Yer used bits, do have new pads coming, but they didnt arrive it time. Maybe that will help. Discs are like new. I have read through the Honda documentation and the process is standard. No mention of doing anything to the ABS pump.

Honda Civic 2.2 CDTI Type S

So this morning I was very hungover and took the car to Chris at Beaniesport to have the brakes done. Parts to swap were calipers, discs, pads, Goodridge lines, Ferrodo fluid and 15mm spacers. Had a look around at the rest of the car underneath and it all seems good. Job went without issue...

Cup pack how do I know

Springs can be replaced incorrectly also, probably best to ring Renault with the reg/vin so they can confirm?

Cup pack how do I know

Calipers can easily be painted, so just be careful if someone tries to sell a cup and it's not.

Honda Civic 2.2 CDTI Type S

Not to much to report on the car, done another oil and filter service with genuine parts around 1k ago. Seems to be running well. I did notice an issue with alignment and panel gaps and decided to investigate yesterday, i was not impressed with what i found! Luckily it doesn't look like there...

    Are these discs ok?

It looks like that all the way round. Because of the angle i took the photo you can't see some of it so might look like a crack.

    Replacing the 182

Something like this? Not this exact car, just thinking of the engine/package as a whole. 240bhp then could remap that to 280 ish would be plenty. Or could go for the 330i instead with a better engine/tuning potential...

    Are these discs ok?

Thanks just wanted some reassurance, will get them on soon :)

    Are these discs ok?

I got some better pictures of the disc. Not worried about the first picture as that's just surface. This second one looks a bit worse.

    Are these discs ok?

To me it looks like the shiny silver part of the coating has actually come off, that's why i was worried.

    Cheers lads :)

    Are these discs ok?

Picked up a brake upgrade the other day and was slightly worried about the discs. They are smooth and are basically new thickness, just a bit of flaking. Will these still be alright to use?

@dann2707 If that headlight protection lacquer ends up going wrong use ceramic coating next time and it will stay clear for years. There is one round the corner from my work i keep seeing! I need to drive one :(

    Jekyll's RB182 Progress Thread

@Dr Jekyll Didn't you fancy putting on any PPF or ceramic coating after your fresh paint? Seems a bit of a shame your touching in stone chips :(
