In fact i've just figured it out lol.
Your exhaust has a centre section where as mine is just a pipe :o
Can you not get someone to pull the exhaust while you do it? Maybe slacken off the mounts at the rear too, that will help
Is the camera facing towards the back or the front of the car?
Have you got a different cat fitted as my cat doesn't look like that lol?
It's the front seats your removing yeh?
Well i'm working until 5 lol.
Sounds strange though as the cat was never in the way when I removed my seats. Tripple check you are looking at the correct bolt mate. There are holes cut into the heat sheild so you can access the bolt with a wrench + extension + number 13 socket
Re: My 1.4 from start to current (not finished) UPDATE
Please tell me you did your ex in that car.
Oh the irony.
BTW i'd got for a 172 cup if your getting an RS. Wish i'd have got one now.
Yep. I have no idea where people get this idea from. I've got an upgraded dogbone mount and its no different to standard.
I also did a 2.5k mile drive around Europe in Grays 172 with all mounts uprated and the car didn't vibrate much atall
If your being a pikey you have three options
Smear peanutbutter on it
Rub a bit of vodka on there
Attack it with a heat gun (but don't leave it on there long enough to melt s**t)
If your doing it properly I'd probably first attack it with an all purpose cleaner of some sort and agitate well...
Cheers dude. Looks pretty scruffy atm as there are a lot of things that need sorting on it.
My claim to fame is that it sounds like a touring car
Maidenhead isn't too bad. Been to the Whetherspoons down there a couple of nights and it always seems really busy. Not many bars though. f**k knows what the honey pot is as well. Looks like a boarded up pub that's open (I'm guessing a brothel).
Was't that impressed by Reading when I went out...
You would be able to pick up a full "kit" for about £400 if you sourced it carefully. You really need to be looking for some smashed up pearl black 172's so you don't have to mess about painting
