Gave the M3 a good going over this afternoon after buying a few new products. Spent a few hours but got rid of all the tar spots which was the main target. IronX'd it too, amazing product!
A few after pics:
Ticked over to 107k this week as well, looks well for it!
Nope, they've got a very good reputation, use them for work on some items etc. Blokes just a bit of an arse to be honest. Speaking to my sprayer he said it looks as though they haven't put enough on, and it's just the primer showing through.
Need to decide on silver or anthracite pretty...
Certainly not!
Haha, I work in a joinery workshop so my phone has half a tree inside it so the camera is crap.
thanks for the offer dude but already got them sorted to go to my bodyshop tomorrow.
Thanks mate. Gutted doesn't cover it. The finish isn't bad in fairness, it's just the colour...
I'm going to go in and see them tomorrow, but I kind of know the bloke who owns it, so I know what the answer is going to be unfortunately. Luckily they weren't expensive so I'm not throwing hundreds away.
Not really spending a lot as all were bought very cheap. Plan was to sell the 19's...
I know what you mean mate. Thought I'd be ok cos they're supposed to be good and the wheels they had in the workshop looked spot on how I wanted.
They have got as clearcoat on the top.
Pictures aren't great either but it probably makes them look better than they are.
Will nip in and have a...
It's like they've mixed white primer and grey primer.
Problem is it's a cash job and they've already got the money etc so not much I can do really. Probably wouldn't be so bad on a coloured car, but being silver is hows how un-silver they are!
So today I put my 18's back on the M3 after being powder coated..
I got them collected for me so never saw them until they were at the tyre fitters, wasn't too happy/sure but thought I might change my mind once they were on so got the tyres fitted and stuck them on after work.
They're not...
How do you mean Dave? The wheels will be freshly powdercoated so I was planning on a quick clean and dry and then straight on with it....is that not the right way?!
Decided since the nicer weather is coming back and I'm making a few changes to the car that I had better get round to giving it a proper clean.
Planning on the following method buying a few new bits and using what I have on the shelf.
Wet and wash (autoglym shampoo)
Autoglym tar remover
IronX...
Lovely!
I had the same problem when I bought a set to fit into my R26, because these are 'Renault' seats the mountings on the bottom are nothing like what a standard Sportster CS is like off the shelf from Recaro so there are not subframes available off the shelf that work.
If these would fit...
Agree about the wheels Chris, only bought them because they had winter tyres on so have served a purpose, can't wait to just get some nice subtle silver ones on. I like the plates but that's just a personal choice.
To be fair I've spent quite a few quid that wasn't really necessary so it does...
Thanks mate.
The short answer is a lot!
Rear one is legal but the front one is tiny and nowhere near legal!
I think you got off lightly with only £3k in 18 months!
I use it everyday and I'm still not bored of it after 7 months, first time ever!
I've got 2 sets, getting one set in silver just for standard looks, not sure what to do with the others. I'm not a massive fan of dark wheels but 2 sets in silver is a bit boring, was thinking possibly bronze, but...
Woke up at 5am this morning and couldn't settle again so thought I'd go for a quick run out before work since it was nice and fresh.Had a nice play, not been out just for a drive in a while so was good to play with all the revs and the traction control off on some quiet country roads.
Took a...
