Imo, it's not realistic. But all the gamer geeks (online not on here) think it is. I'm guessing they spend a lot of time in their bedroom as opposed to actually driving.
It feels like a car with lots of grip, but shagged dampers. There's grip, but lots of float in the handling.
It's weird...
I veer from enjoying it a bit, then 5 mins later wanting to throw the xbox out the window. It's far too prescriptive in the way it demands you drive. Once nearly any car starts to slide, there's very little chance to recover. It's actually harder to skid/drift in the game than real life.
Can't...
I'd happily invest in a wheel to get the most out of it, but the other bugs would still be there. I don't see the point in spend a couple of hundred on a wheel when the game still slows to a crawl at certain points every lap!
Needs serious work imo. Get rid of the bugs, add a decent selection...
Pheads thread is interesting. Seems to be a split between those that can ignore/accept the bugs and enjoy the game, and those that can't.
Is anyone else getting horrendous slow down/lag at Oulton? Island corner in particular.
Even if that's the case (and I personally don't think it is), some of the issues just ruin it.
The lag during the formula rookie race at Oulton was appalling. And the merc a45 (4wd) seems to behave like it's rwd on remoulds.
Feels like it's only 70% finished.
I think there's an element of emperors new clothes to it. If gran turismo or forza had released it, we'd hear nothing but criticism (justifiably) about a very small car list, very poor controller integration, bugs, laggy performance and just plain weird handling.
So baffled by the love for this. Bought an xbox just for this, honestly the worst racing game I've played. Physics are all over the place, once car starts to slide there's nothing you can do about it. Example racing the e30 at Spa, car slides. I've got full opposite lock on, and cars going in...
Don't bother. Quality is massively variable from what I've read, support is s**t. Given that you can buy decent touch screen units from parrot etc for similar money, proven tech with decent support, its pointless buying those type of units.
Had a play with one yesterday. It's the best smart watch I've seen. Which is a bit like choosing the best one armed midget r****d to perform open heart surgery.
Still think they're pointless, guy at work looks a massive star trek convention prick tapping at his wrist. Only feature I could see...
Is the gaitor not part of the gear knob, as per the e46? As much as I liked the standard illumination, ditched it for a stormwerks knob. Big improvement, the weight of the knob makes a surprising difference.
Assuming that's a Renault warrantied power boost you've got there chap, similar to mountune? Good to see you can get on with that box, most people seem to find the delay between pulling the paddle and something actually happening annoying.
But that's how people tend to run cars these days? I don't understand the point you're trying to make? Wether you view it as owning a car or not, that's how people tend to purchase cars?
They're still owners lol. That's the nature of modern car buying. If they were up at the same price, there would be more clio owners. But they'd still be massively outnumbered by fiesta drivers.
