We had one in the family from new for about 8yrs. Wasn't 1*2 pace. Brilliant things all round. I was so close to buying one in 2005, but borrowed one for the day and couldn't drive it without getting monumental back ache after a while. Think that was more me than the car though.

It's good. Music and nav, calls etc controlled via touch screen. Texts read out to you, and can reply using voice control.

Get something with Android auto (or Apple car play). Voice control for music.

He's talking nonsense imo. Isn't the edc lighter than the 200 it replaced by 40kg? Weight wasn't the problem. The problem is the engine isn't modern or efficient, is outclassed by the 1.6 in the Fiesta. Yes the 2l will add some weight, but I'd assume the manual will be lighter than that God...

Can't compare the Vee to a FWD hatch. The Vee was a massive departure, totally different chassis, drive train (including orientation!), body etc.

No. No no no no. Wouldn't let super chips loose on any car I owned. Rstuning can do remote mapping on the megs etc, may be worth seeing if they can for the 200? Rstuning leeds BTW, not the Dutch company.

Personally, I can't see what they offer over a lightly used golf gti. Slower, worse residuals, worse build quality, worse gearbox, worse image, much worse interior etc etc.
