No. Easy to say, because it's been so long since someone died. But the current risk is enough, let the designers go banzai and they won't be able to protect the drivers enough in a high speed accident.

It does sit closer, the back of the wheel seems chunkier. Feels nicer, if you don't want to go aftermarket it's worthwhile. But doesn't compare to a decent aftermarket wheel. At all.
How? I'm sure if you know exactly what spring/damper rates you want, it's easy. If you don't you can spend hundreds extra, as well as time chasing a setup. Or you could go to companies with much higher r&d.
If you want something fully custom, kw etc can also do that. But at higher quality...
