The worst phone you've ever owned?

I've had BB's for years, Curves, Bolds and the Torch, and never once have I had any problems with them freezing. Are you using a genuine build of the OS and not some hacked up version by Orange/T-Mobile. Also, there are some interesting "releases" of OS6 and OS7 floating about which are leaked...

Clutch gone again? Advice needed ASAP.

So they've fitted a clutch "kit" and a DMF... which is about right. How many miles have you done on that kit?

My Pioneer Head unit on eBay.

I've got this in my watch list now... can you just confirm that it will do RED illumination for me please? Its going in an Alfa and I hate mismatched colours (one of many OCD's) Mick

    running lumpy at idle! Help!!

Automatic chokes!!! LoLz, we've not had those on cars since the 1980's matey (Well, since EFi became standard fitment at least to petrol engines). Fuel lines and fuel itself are rarely an issue these days so I doubt it is a blockage... plus, if it's okay pre and post 3k rpm its isn't fuel...

Clutch gone again? Advice needed ASAP.

I doubt a "taking it up the rear" session would actually kill the clutch in the way you're describing. Do you know what was fitted when it "Was done" at 80k... full clutch kit, hydraulic slave, DMF? Ideally the clutch will need inspecting to see if it is the cltuch that has worn or if its a...

I hate my 59 plate grand scenic!

Renault UK aren't usually the problem... that is normally down to the franchised dealer network, specifically the service manager. My old Laguna II GT's gearbox and hydraulic clutch setup failed misserably about a month after the warranty expired on the way back from Poole and the dealer...

    HELP - Car won't start!

Little problems like these are normally very simple to fix once identified but without being able to see the car makes it harder. The Clio II, Ph2 doens't have an inertia switch mate but the relays are a possible. They are located in the under bonet fuse box in the passenger wing area. Whilst...

Spark plug wire snapped and plug still in engine, Help!!!

It doesn't help that the D4F has a ridiculously small plug wells either so getting tools in is difficult - These coil packs, especially the cheaper ones, can be a pain in the a$$ at the best of times. I had one in which somehow had two plug lead seals from the end of the trailing leads stuck on...

    idling problem

Nagh, I doubt its an airleak and think Danny has hit the nail on the head with either the speedo earth (It's part of the speedo cable IIRC) or faulty IACV. Its not very often we get to see the older cars these days but I've just had to do a friends Williams 1 that had similar issues and that...

    exhaust fumes in coolant reservoir?

I'd take a stab in the dark guess at either an airlock, faulty reservoir cap or the water pump itself is shot. New reservoir cap from Renault (Note the colour of the cap) then drop the coolant and start again as its cheap enough to do. Then, if the system pressure still keeps building up and...

here we go again... problems at low rpm!!

Does it deffo run Lambda control? Maplins sell one... IIRC correctly the Omex's need a slightly strange USB to Serial cable but I forget the technical spec (Should be on the website though i guess)

    Caliper slide bolt question

The grease being tightly packed in acts to force it back out - What you need is for the slider to move backwards and forwards freely without any sticking to allow them to do there job.

    earth wire?

Thats deffo the gearbox earth and will cause problems eventually... Go in to the passenger wheel arch and you'll be able to see where it should bolt to.

    Caliper slide bolt question

Yes, they are supposed to pop back a little but there are no springs. Chances are the top one needs cleaning up and re-greasing

Rear Brake pads 'wearing thin' (MOT advisory)

New they only have 6mm on them - loads of life left in them and all Renaults with this rear calliper setup seem to get picked up on this... nothing to worry about.

    AutoCad Help

Yeah, stanley knife blades and nylon brushes sucked! Never bothered with a template/stencil though as my freehand was good enough. One guy was so terrible though that they paid for a stencil machine which made such a noise

    Starting Fault.

So the car has had a top end rebuild - did you carry out a compression test before getting it all back together to make sure the cylinder head and the new valves were operating correctly? Timing may be out slightly if the engine has been turning over without inteference but, that wouldn't stop...

here we go again... problems at low rpm!!

Could be CTS/ATS, H02 (IF it's running one) or Ignition system fault such as water in the plugs or a coil... Guessing won't fix it though matey so as you paid for it why not plug in your laptop and have a look at what the Omex is seeing when this happens. Mick

    Clio 1.2 Poor Petrol?

So many things can effect your vehicles fuel consumption... tyre pressures, binding brakes, exhaust system integrity, faulty engine sensors. Servicing your car is, if done properly, about more than just changing the oil and filters. If you think the fuel consumption is up then get it looked at...

    Help!!!

Before you condem the cylinder or start pulling the top end to bits have you tried sticking a spare plug in the end of the lead to see if you get a spark (Don't forget, the base of the plug will need earthing to get a spark so make sure its touching something metal and hold it with some decent...

Rebuilt the engine, it fired up but....

If you suspect a TB issue remove the track and see what the throttle plate is doing... holding a 7k idle would most likely see it wide open. Personally, I think its nothing more than an inlet leak. Check the sensors are correctly pushed in to the upper inlet plenum as the MAP and ATS can...

    Help!!!

No, its a waste spark system so cylinders 1-4 both spark at the same time as do 2-3. If you've deffo got a missfire on one specific cylinder that isn't coil related then swap the leads about to see if you can make the missfire move. If it moves it is a lead at fault. If it doesn't then its...
