It's due the major service now , if you go off Renaults 5 year recommendation . According to the MOT history, 60k miles was June 2011. So you're looking at another £600 on top of the £2500 straight away. The one @imprezaworks mentioned has s**t loads of history , receipts , lots of money spent.

It looks ok . Just says service history available , not what history , no mention of belts etc ........... which is what people want to know.

So what did the dealership actually say or mean when they said they'd look after you ? Are they going to fix the engine or just investigate what went wrong ?

No aftermarket exhaust or backbox will sound as quiet as the original . 3 years isn't a long time for the standard back box to rot through though . Stainless is the only way to go , it'll last llonger than car itself. As said Miltek or Scorpion 192 is about as quiet as you'll get for an after...

If they do fob you off , ring Renault Customer services . 0344 335 0000. Even if the belt is 1 month out of warranty , it shouldn't fail . It needs to be looked at why it was defective , bearing in mind the service interval is 3 years or 36,000 miles for the Aux belt which it should easily out...

Sorry to hear about your car , not good :unamused: The first thing I'd do would be contact the dealership that did the service . It needs investigating why it should fail in such a short space of time and hardly any miles . I wouldn't let anybody else touch it until the dealer has looked at it.

I'd actually booked mine in for its major service , all the belts etc with Mick at Diamond motors ......... Only when I'd had all that done did he discover how bad the water pump was. Renault on the last major service had actually used a none genuine water pump which had only lasted about 28K ...
