loads of people keep telling me it wont be quick, but they are the same people who refer to a standard saxo vts or 106gti as "rapid" 1.6 16v is a pretty underestimated car, and when using a raised rev limit 0-60 will be a bit quicker even on a standard engine. get it running 130-140bhp and it...
£995 + vat for conversion kit, fitting done by myself so no labour costs.
manifold £300, decat £100, viper £250, headwork £300, internal work ive not had a quote for but all parts will be removed and refitted by my mate so also cuts labour costs down.
in total might come to about £3,000 once...
lol a hammer is one tool you shouldnt take near a french car!!!! hehe only kidding, as said above stick a bit of copper slip on them this time and makes it easyer next time.
expression only went up to 1.4 16v, so no 1.6 16v expression.
no other model worth going for than the dynamique apart from the very rare/special initiale model
a good driver knows his limits, if you understand the differences in driving conditions, how a car behaves in a corner/roundabout etc then you should be ok.
the only thing you need to watch for is dont judge corners by gears, where your 1.2 goes round a corner flat out in 4th (100mph) a 172...
to be honest not that much difference in the boxes performance wise to make it worth while going for 1.2 box if i have to change it 6 months later anyway so will probably get the correct box for it
yep i know the Super1600 cars have ITB's and cams but i mean road car that doesnt have a £10,000 engine lol
fred recon'd that the 1.2 box would be fine with a 1.6 and even said he wanted to put one on his 2.0, but not sure. whats your thoughts?
cheers for all the info edde.
no worries about the 1.2 gearbox it only went on the car last month and had only done 8k miles at the time. (only reason im doing this is to save money since its a new box anyway, plus should make it slightly quicker although ratios arnt that different on them)...
hi, phoning up matt black in january to order my 1.6 16v conversion kit and just got a couple of last questions about it.
so far im getting 1.6 16v with everything needed, (but using a 1.2 16v gearbox) i also want to get the 2.0 F4R throttle body that fits the engine the kit comes with ecu...
FK Konigsports (as low as i can get them to go without rubbing)
ph3 1.6 16v/172/182 rear beam with disks
rebuilt 1.6 16v engine lightned and ballanced, cams, headwork, manifold, decat. paired with 1.2 16v gearbox
cheers mate, will give it a go, i fancy rear disks anyway depending on what engine im going for next still cant decide between 1.6 and 2.0 (2.0 is going to need new brakes and coilovers which is more expense but probably worth it
my rear drums/shoes are gone lol its that much hastle to get shoes for it because you get 3 different kinds or some shite, renault want £80 for just shoes and local motorfactors cant tell what ones i have ?!?!?
so on the lookout for a ph3 1.6 or 172/182 rear beam now for rear disks.
ive got the gearbox mount bushes and recommend them as one of the best mods ive done after suspension. no movement in my gearstick anymore and you cant feel the engine moving when you give it full throttle now, it just instantly goes. used to be a tiny delay as the engine swung back.
ive got...
very dangerous, it could pop off in an impact and your harnesses would do nothing for you, or as said if the brace gets pulled back it pulls the harnesses with it and crushes you!
132,000 miles and it still loves the limiter daily.... lol
your woried about your engine?!?!?! mine wouldnt let me go over 3,000 revs and took 4 hours to get to 30mph yesterday all day with the engine management light on, wiggled a couple of wires about today and all is well lol
thats just clutch abuse lol i can make mine do that but i dont since wheelspin when launching it from junctions etc has cost me a gearbox before, be careful!
looks good mate, get the fuel rail cover or what ever its called polished up like they do on the 2.0 16v's will look much better! could also get the engine mount done if you could be bothered lol
