When i first got my Rainsports fitted to the front i thought they felt weird drving home from the tyre fitters . That was going from PE2's , they did feel kind of vague , but i put that down to being new tyres and needing scrubbing in a bit . After a week or so i played about with the pressure ...
They never asked to see my letter either . i just rang up , booked it in and went . They'll probably have it on their system that the cars due a recall and whether it's FOC i would imagine .
The thing is with tyres , it's more down to a personal choice . You'll get some people who rave over one tyre , saying they're the best thing since sliced bread , then you'll get another group of people who think they're utter sh1te . I know that doesn't help your problem . But it's a debate...
£40 isn't " cheap " , cheap for a battery , but that doesn't mean to say you haven't bought a cheap battery though , they usually cost about double that price for an original battery , yours is probably some cheap Chinese compatible at that price . From my experience the cheap batteries don't...
+1 I hated the Toyos i had on my 172 , they were absolutely crap in the wet . I also love the Rainsports in the wet and dry . I run the fronts at 36psi though as the tyrewall does seem a little soft .
@ the OP . I don't know if running 195's makes any difference , it does seem strange you're...
They didn't do a check on my car at Blackburn ( where bill took his ) or go round with a clipboard , well not to my knowledge anyway . And they had it for an hour and half lol . Luckily there was some old geezer in the reception area , another customer , who kept me entertained with the stories...
It won't be your brake fluid if it's a metal on metal sound . Like i said before , it sounds like there's no friction material left on at least one of the front pads , maybe more ..... ? If you could jack it up and spin the wheel you'll hear it grind if it is . Keep us posted . Oh , and take it...
Well if it's not making a noise when you stop using the handbrake that's got to rule out the back brakes , so you're gonna have to check out your front brakes , starting with your pads . The squealing could be metal on metal , your brake pad backing plate on your disc . Look through the wheels...
It's probably just got a bit of rust on the pistons so it's binding . Take one out and have a look . Clean it up with a bit of fine wet n dry , a bit of grease on it and put it back in . It worked for me anyway .
Just tried again mate . It says "
Andyman has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space. " ??
Don't quote me on this , it's been a few years since i stripped a rear caliper down so i'm just going from memory . The piston should just screw out , it's only held in by a threaded screw that screws into the centre of the piston . It might be a bit seized , mine had rusted in a bit . But i got...
Hard to tell from the pics , not the best quality , but obviously you've seen it in the flesh . But it looks in good condition , even the steering wheel hasn't suffered the dreaded melting . Offer him £1600 and see how ya get on . If you don't ask , you don't get eh ;) Height wise it looks ok to...
If he dropped that easily , he obviously wants shut of it . You want to pay £1800 , offer him £1600 then he might meet you in the middle . If you offer him £1800 he might say £1900 , hagglings a game lol .
It might even be a cup , no xenons , poverty spec interior i.e. no leather/alcantara seats . I'm not sure if the cups had aircon or not ? I think they might have in the 182's but no climate control . I'm not 100% on that . Someone else might come along and clarify that .
There were 2 cup pack...
Is the seller saying it has the cup suspension ? If so i'm sure he wouldn't mind you whipping the wheel off the gain access and measure it . Especially if he isn't 100% himself .
According to Fred you can measure this :
Just to add , there were 148 Infernos registered with 117 having the cup suspension so there's a high % chance that is has the cup suspension i'd say . Before you think what a geek knowing this , it's in the link below lol .

54mm bolt spacing non cup pack suspension , 60mm cup suspension .

You could check the springs for the red and white dots of paint , but the car might have had aftermarket...
I would imagine that they all have the same brackets , thats my guess anyway . I can't really see Renault making different brackets for different models , to keep the cost down . You could have a look at the nonsports i suppose , but maybe they were drilled out on yours because they'd rusted in...
Haven't got a clue if you can buy one to be honest , but my guess would be no . Imagine if they sold every little bracket , nut , bolt etc ..... they'd need a big storage facility . The bracket you've circled looks like it's just popped riveted on to me .You could probably knock one up out of a...
The backboxes look to me very much like the backboxes that Powerflow use . Like the backbox i had on my 172 anyway , and that didn't have name on either .
That was my concern when i took mine in to have a new bonnet catch fitted , that they'd probably try opening and closing it a few times and push down on the bonnet . Like ya said . They won't have dropped it properly so it'll have been sitting slightly open and someone will have pushed on the...
I can hardly see the lights in the daytime pics either , especially the 2nd one . Like Dink and Jesus said , you need a multi-directional led because the reflector and lens are designed to work with a filament lamp which is multi-directional . You'd be better off with something like this led...
