Clio 172 basic 1 year running, assuming it will be 100% reliable, and it bloody won't be! Say it's £2k to insure Tax £205 MOT £50 Service £150 (cheapish at that) Tyres £300 Can you really afford to pay £225 a month at 17 on a car before you've even paid for it or even driven a mile? Fair play...

182 cup = poor mans 182 172 cup = proper track car.

It's on it's 3rd, but it's had 4 in it lol the orginal seemed alright to me.

What the k-tec ones like, can't imagine them being any worse than the renault ones?

All seems well now :) Think it's just the way the 172 gearbox is, it's crude but functional.

3rd to 4th and 5th to 4th are the only gears that work "well" on my car.

Not sure if i want that uprated one as heard it puts strain on all the others.

I'd say they tend to fail at 60k, don't like abuse, if you don't cane them in 1st and don't change gear fast they "should" be ok.

Yes and i really recommend you stop as it will destroy the gearbox.
