You see a lot less RS4's than M3's. IMO, RS4 has the better engine, looks better, has a far nicer interior, and sounds better. And I hate SMG.

The response is quicker, and the power delivery feels different. My ph1 feels like an animal compared to my ph2's.

Sounds like you had one that had been treated badly before you. I did nearly 50k in my 182, including 5 track days, never had any probs outside of routine maintenance.

Never understood this. On my 5th clio RS, only now am I facing a serious problem, which could of happened to any car. All been very reliable for me.

I'd drive them all 1st. Off your list it would be the R32. Driven the VXR at Bedford and on the road, of the current crop it would be bottom of the list. Awful steering, crap power delivery, and a cheap looking interior (compared to Golf/Focus). Not even going to get into the gear-knob.......

Not a fan. By Fords own admission, built and designed to compete against the 206gti, not the 182. A 182 would be a fair bit quicker.
