You shouldn't really have lacquer blends these days, 100% not on the wing anyway and the bumper you don't really want half painted. The bodyshop are not only taking a risk of polish back etc and keying issues they aren't really saving time.
Depends if they replace the wing. Repairing the wing/bumper could be £500 +vat, maybe more maybe less. I've no idea what some charge down south.
Replacing the wing? Well you don't want to go there.
I can see a use for them but I agree you guys are probably right. Everything will be digital, cars were the last place you really burned CD's for. No one needs to do that anymore.
I'm guessing Steam has ruined PC game CDs?
Forgetting the outside pictures the ones inside show just how much gloss can be added to Grey/Silvers. Utterly stunning work mate. You should have took so many more inside and people would be gobsmaked I can tell. ;)
Slick is a word I would use. Proper finish. Shame you're not closer, double...
Jacob, your one is a special bus and properly mint, big difference. It's a labour of love and you've had it for a long time.
I'm uber jealous of yours!
Indeed. Rob's old one on F1s would be a special little bus!
Thanks for the chat guys, interesting to hear others thoughts.
Not sure why you would spend another 1k on fixing/modifying a ph1 though, suppose makes sense if you love them and want a mint one but still not exactly financially...
I would add the interior massively puts me off, I always liked the Ph2 even though it was still stone age but the Ph1 is very dated inside. A Sabelt would make me feel better.
Agreed, that ST was on 115k, 2 owners, 1st was a company car. Massive spec, most sought after colour and I paid sweetie money for it. I can always find a bargain, it's patience more than anything I think. Mileage means nothing if it's cheap enough.
Looked in December and was a tad shocked. If anything the Ph1s were tidier and doing more than the ph2.
I sort of do agree with this but there are decent ph1/2 172s at £1500 and under. Look at the Flamer for £1200 recently that was immaculate.
How are they looking guys, would maybe consider one in a few months as a little bargain but prices still seem to be a tad high-ish, depending on condition of course. Looking to spend around £1000 ish.
I'd consider, Titanium first, Black, flamer possibly but not fussed about that, sorry DJW! :o
I'm quite impressed. I think you'll be fine mate. He's clearly doing things properly looking at what he's written.
The old school nature of the quote is also a positive in some ways. Big garages these days can be a nightmare for cutting corners etc.
The glass is the only little thing that I...
Shame you're so far away mate. I'd want it mon-Fri to make sure it was done properly. I can't remember just how much that door/wing decal was.
You also have a small anti-chip foil at the bottom of the rear quarter. Make sure this is replaced, a lot of places lacquer over them.
Anyway ideally you'd want the car machine polished but with UR it's different due it being clearoverbase.
Painting just the side will look fine mate but like any car it'll look fresher than the rest.
Where do you stay Liam?
