Had a constant droning noise which I thought was coming from the rear end. Wasn't coming from the engine or gear box (thankfully!!) then I narrowed it down to rear brakes / wheel bearings. Bought a set of genuine rear discs and Brembo OE pads from George at RTR Sports (thanks, what a great guy...
Fitted new rear discs and pads. No pictures though as I wanted to get it done. Hopefully will sort out the awful humming noise of what I thought was a rear wheel bearing.
Tomorrow is to change the spark plugs and put the new painted inlet on to tidy the engine bay up
ME!!! Didn't see you though
Was going to come along to the meet in a bit but I have just got out of work, and it has been a long day (you saw me on the way to work!) and I just want to sleep. Next month is a different kettle of fish.
Swapping my inlet manifold over for the one I painted up last month (finally!) this weekend when I go back to my parents. Need to change the gasket too as I am unsure of what state the current one is in and might as well when it is off.
Is this the right one? Just want to have all the parts...
Struggled to lock the car on the remote button on the key. The little red light on the fob was flashing when I was pressing the button but the car wasn't responding and not locking possibly suggesting I still had life int he battery. Then I put the key in the ignition, turned on and then tried...
You may find that the internet says "you can't remove the inner OS CV gaiter and it is a new drive shaft job"....this is rubbish as I had mine apart last year to replace the split gaiter. It is still going fine
However there are three different types you can get and only one will fit....but this...
I don't have any before and after shots as I had aftermarket lights on before and got some originals to restore. But in my progress thread there are close ups of the lights showing how the look now.
Plenty of videos on YouTube showing how to use it too. But very simple to use. All you need is a...
For less than £20 you can get a 3M headlight Retoration Kit. I did mine the other week and came up trumps. Other have had similar results. Could be worth it the try instead of forking out mega bucks for a new set of lights
I saw a bumper on sale here with the reg "X894NGN"and I had to double take thinking someone had stolen my bumper!! I've got a private plate on now.
I will see what I am doing next week. Been a member for over a year and yet to come to a meet!!
Got a picture of how they actually look, the driver's side is definately too low.
Going to have another look tomorrow evening to see if it is the servo adjustment. If the servo is fubar'd then I have the old ones I can try, but is is making a noise, I just couldn't tell if it was moving and...
Bought some MTEC bulbs after reading some posts about what bulbs to pick. It was these or the Orsam ones, but someone said they didn't like the MTEC ones as you could see the blue of the bulbs, but I quite like that so I got them.
I am pleased with them, a lot brighter than the old bulbs I had...
Ok....could be a dodgy connection as I have just been out to check it (it's dark and easy to see!) and the bulb was out. Wiggled the connection and it came back on.
The servo is making a noise, but not sure if it is doing anything to the level to the drivers side (passenger is fine). Need to...
In hindsight it is probably a job I should have checked when I had the car in pieces fitting them. I had in in my head that being original parts it will be fine.
It does need doing as I've just driven in the dark and it points so close to the front of the car it looks like I have a bulb out...
Thanks for that, I'll have another look tomorrow, just wanted to be pointed in the right direction. But damn it, it sounds like another bumper off, lights out job! Which is what I wanted to avoid unless I can squeeze my hand in the small gap.
Going to sound like a simpleton here.....how do I adjust my lights!
Just fitted an original set of headlight units and the drivers side basically points at about 2" in front of the car, not ideal.
I know there are adjust screws (the White screw things behind the unit), but aren't these for...
I've been told to say when you are buying a windscreen is to say you are paying cash and not using your insurance as sometimes they can pile on the cost for insurers. Not sure how true that is, but my step dad did it last time he had to buy a screen and managed to savesome money.
Got some original light. Needed a refurb. Used the 3M kit and was really pleased with the results. I think they look a lot better than the aftermarket ones I had on there.
Some pictures before / during / after.

Also took the chance to clean behind the bumper when it was...
I've read the "how to restore headlights" posts, and decided to get the 3M stuff. Watched videos and that and now know what to do.
But the lights I am restoring are currently not on the car but will be come tomorrow. Is it best to do the restore when the lights are on or off the car? I am...
I am not sure what the polish was, I asked my brother (who is into the car detailing thing) I want to remove the protection I have put on and whatever else is on there, and he whacked out two bottles of different grades. We did a coarse one first and then a finer one. The ammount of crap that...
Yep, as it was ok before a shower, then 10mins later after eating lunch went out to it and then it was like the photo. Same the other day when I came out of work when it had been raining int he day. As I said its only the roof and bonnet that are affected, the doors/sides/boot are unaffected...
Ok, so now I have a picture (and remebered I posted about this!)
I have machine polished the roof and bonnet and it does nothing to these marks. I think the ones of the roof have changed, like they just fade away naturally and then when the car gets wet and then stands in the sun the water...
