Dell. B-B-Buy Now pay in 12 months.
Tis what I'm doing. If you dont pay the early settlement of £49 + the price of the laptop, it goes onto a loan. But that gives you plenty of time to save up, so you can pay it off anyway, surely?
Awesome. Just received my delivery date via text. 17th March. Next Tuesday. Noice.
Processor upgraded to P8600, too. (2.4 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB, 3MB L2.4 Cache)
Cant wait. Bloody Vista though ;)
^ My mate is on BT and had no problems, either. The router/phone isnt too bad either.
When AOL was on top, it was spot on. 600KB/s download speeds and no issues at all. It was just far too inconsistent, and they kept claiming I wasnt being capped or exceeded the Fair Useage Policy. So it...
There are many reasons why I chose Sky, though. They were the only ISP in my area that supported LLU, I got Sky Max for just under £10 a month, too.
If it was down to personal choice, I'd have gone with BE. But they arent available in my area. Not only via LLU, but even ADSL.
We all hear about the nightmare stories of cancelling AOL or getting a mac code to migrate to another ISP. As you may know from the threads I've posted, I decided to cancel my 12 year stint with AOL and switch to Sky Broadband, as I have Sky packages throughout the house and they also have LLU...
My contract is up in a month or so but I can have a new phone this month if I want.
For the first time in years I have absolutely no idea which phone to get :(
As I know very little about LG phones, what's so pap about it? The camera is apparently great, and the software on it works well enough. Or so they say.
Lots of positives and negatives, which is all good, I guess
It wont be a gaming machine, apart from possibly Football Manager and the like. Nothing to stretch the graphics card, anyway. I have my 360 for that. Moreso just to download things (music, movies, applications). Internet...
Yeah, cheers for the advice, innit.
Am I right in thinking the main hit points from Vista will be the following : Processor, Memory, Hard drive and Graphics Card?
So this spec should run Vista with little to no problems?
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.4 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB, 3 MB...
Well I dont want to end up smashing my laptop because it's too slow or frustrating me. I realise its a decent spec machine I'm buying but I want to see the benefits.
I've had 2 new computers through home insurance due to "accidents" and dont want another at the moment...
^ Bah.
Also just found out the processor on my new laptop will be an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.4 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB, 3 MB L2.4 Cache)
So not the 866Mhz I originally thought. Bonus.
Not a fan then?
Any particular reasons for this, mate?
LOL @ shortcut commands. Alt + F4 FTW? ;)
Good point about the drivers, too, I guess. I phoned Dell and enquired about XP and they told me that they dont send out any of their built systems with anything less than Vista on...
Cheers guys.
Hopefully soon I'll have a new laptop and a new ISP in Sky Broadband.
Am I also right in thinking that the problems with certain applications and games not running correctly in Vista have been ironed out? I think that Football Manager 2007 or 08 wouldnt install and run...
My new laptop has Vista Home pre-installed, but my mates have been saying XP is easier to live with and actually fares better in benchmark tests. My mum's laptop has Vista on, and to be honest I'm not a fan at all. Took me long enough finding Windows Explorer. Saying that, it was a free gift...
The mission where you have to sneak past them and plant a device in the eggs as part of Moira's quest for The Wasteland Survival Guide is harder, TBH.
Also, check this out, mate :

It says the Alien Blaster can take them out with one shot.
