I tried to sideload 4.4.1 last night on my N5, adb would recognise the device and could reboot into recovery. But when I put the command in to send the file, it came back with device not found. Must be a driver issue, but it appears ok in device manager.

So if you run a different kernel version, like say the Franco Kernel... it would then need manually updating after that.

Totally possible, but you may as well just buy a 172/182 for the price of them now.

Once it's been rooted, you don't get over the air updates. Is that right? You have to manually update it?

Just switched this over on mine. Difinitely snappier opening apps, will see what happens with the battery life too. So far it's a worthwile changeover :approve:
