another Mk1 owner comes out. nice wheels too, im not really a fan of 17s for the fact i once owned a set and it made my 172 a pig to drive hard...which is kinda what the car is really for. Looks really, really good though dude. :D

Mk1s all the way. Nothing down to performance though, there is that little in it! I just prefer the looks sooooo much and i even like the fact its so much rawer to drive...the early Mk2 172s feel like Mk1s on aneasthetic driven back to back in my experience. Mine has added Mk2 bits to bring it...

iirc the 1.9 dci is a hell of a lot bigger than your existing F9Q lump. good luck getting the electrical bits to talk to each other too.;) not keen on the install but the car looks great and welcome! --chris
