Is there anything I can use to check how much I download in a day/week/month etc?
Giganews server is good because it stores download information when you've downloaded files. However, adding to that I mean streaming football games, websites, little files and pictures etc. Is there anyway I...
I know the 5000GB in a month wasnt possible, I was just making the point that there isnt a limit as such, in their eyes. Its a pain.
I've just phoned them and waited no longer than 1 minute to be put through to a humanoid. Amazing.
Anyway, I asked when my cap would be lifted so he checked...
They dont have a limit on downloads at all. I could download 5000GB in a month, there is no limit. However, it would be downloaded during peak hours at 50kb/s. lol
I've emailed them to ask for it to be lifted coz I've been good.
I've just uninstalled McAfee because to be quite frank it was doing my f*cking tits in with its slow loading and finding random things for my Allowing or Disallowing approval. b****cks.
So now I am protection less.
What is the best software available to use? Free would be nice, too :)
Just a quick query really. Originally, I had no idea about this policy; I'm was on AOL Gold with an 8Meg line and had just bought an account on Giganews server and Newzbin. So downloading feast ahoy. I downloaded around 80GB of files in 3 or 4 days, then left it a while. I noticed that when I...
I tested it this morning and it was 4120kb/s. A bit better then.
This capping b****cks is annoying. Going to email AOL now.
Am I correct in thinking with being on an 8meg line, the figure I got above is half of what I could acheive at another time? Not up to speed with all these MB/s and...
Yesterday, during daylight hours (before 5pm anyway) I did a test on the line and got 4500kbps which was better. Certainly higher than the national average. Shame I was capped for a while but hopefully it should come back soon.
Is there any site I can use where it bypasses the AOL capping just so I can test it properly? I mean, that was 143kb/s, not KB/s. Its so slow! Thats about 17KB/s
Even so, I've just been on http://www.speedtest.net/ and my download speed is utter pants with this cap. Or at least I'm hoping its the cap...
140kb/s download and 93kb/s upload. Superb on an 8meg line... :S
Ok I've finally sorted it. I'm pretty sure it was down to the switch on the front of the laptop which didnt work 4 times, so I tried one last time and the red light came on to activate it.
Anyway, I had this screen but the 3 connections above the Wireless connection were ALL active. So I had 4...
Ok, so I got my Router and everything set up. Its been detected and working fine. But this is only while the ethernet cable is connected from the router to my network ethernet card in the side of my laptop.
When I run the AOL Auto CD it goes through everything ok with the ethernet cable...
Even that place couldnt find a driver. Cheers though. I've tried so many now. Found out its more than likely a Broadcom 4011 driver. On the spec it says its a 802.11a/b/g wireless LAN whatever the hell that means.
Anyway, I bought a Fast Ethernet cardbus coz I thought the laptop connection was...
I've downloaded loads of drivers but none of them remedy the Ethernet Controller driver which is still a yellow ! in my Driver Manager in System tab.
I need it for my Wireless router to get it to work or even recognise there's something there.
Originally, there was a yellow ! next to Modem...
Cannot possibly see that reaching 0-60mph in under 4 seconds. A similar modified hardtop would struggle to do that. Too heavy and power to weight still plays a big part.
