Bought it privately. I'd never buy from a dealer, easy enough car to check over yourself, or pay Dekra £150 to do a mechanical check before buying, and still cheaper than a dealer. Drive a few, the 182 probably had knackered engine/box mounts, makes the gear shift feel very baggy and loose...

Fitted my new brakes yesterday, from yozza. Haven't got round to doing the hoses yet (ran out of time), but 2 questions: 1-Are they easy to fit, or is it worth paying somone? 2-Any point in fitting braided hoses to the rear brakes, as they do bugger all braking? Cheers Warren

Nope, Trophy spoiler is the vee spoiler, larger than the cup version, more angle as well.

5.5k should get you a minter, paid just a few dollar over that for mine a month ago.

Noooo! The 182 cup wheels is smaller and with a narrower rim, feels much nicer to use.

No spare wheel with 182. As said, MOT won't pick up accident damage etc. At the very least take someone with you with some mechanical knowledge to check the car out. Or print the buyers guide and take that with you, do some checks yourself.

I'd always get a Dekra/AA mechanical check done if you don't know much about the car. Costs £150, but could easily save you more than that if the cars a dud, or poorly repaired accident damage etc.

Mk5 GTI is pretty much same speed as 1*2 up to silly speeds. A 225/230 meg will slowly pull away.
