The choice is purely personal ! But i would say that brake caliper manufacturers do lots of rigorous testing and if they didn't serve a purpose they wouldn't fit them . Personally i'd just file some off the brake pad and leave em in . MrBillyUK !

I wouldn't take your pollen filter out , thats filters all the crap , dust etc out of the air for inside your car . If its noise your after you could always go down the universal induction kit route ,something like the green dynatwist or you could go for a replacement after market panel filter...
