The RS-2's are great and I agree with what you say, but shear grip and pushing cars well above the weight of the clio around a track is fun also as you can see how pissed they are when a snotter goes past ;)
In reality both coilovers and big brakes will do naff all if you run rubbish tyres...
If your going to use the Ultraleggera as track wheels only then go for some R888's or the equivelent. You'll be able to break much harder and corner quicker with just R888's alone.
Coupled with coilovers...
Putting a carbon bonnet on your car Chris will make the baby jesus cry. Car looks perfect as is, well only one ting i'd do is either get a standard front diamond or paint with rear diamond white to match.
p.s. I'll give you £50 for the bonnet ;)
This guy speaks sense.
ARB will make a great difference to drive, the springs may be good but from what I hear they still eat shocks like all other lowering springs. Standard setups pretty good if you just use it on the road. If you want something a little firmer go for some 172 Cup springs as...
Or you could just buy this.... http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?554193-Forged-F4R-9.5-1-CR-428-s-JE-Pistons-Cat-Rods-NEWLY-BUILT
I'm sure eventually he'll let this go for around £2500 and then you have a seriously powerful car!
As much as i'm a fanboy of the JMS manifold, doing all that work like matched inlets does make a difference but if you work out how much you spend on all of that for the a little extra you could for an RS-2.
Matched inlets - £150
V6 Airbox/ITG filter/Silicon bend - £150
Decat - £70
Cat-back...
Don't go for that, looks horrific and porbably had a hard lift being 'boi'd' by some pleb.
Get a standard one, friend at work has one and there lovely to be in. Pretty powerful also and that before a map!
The SPG's look alright, but aren't going to offer half the support of a proper bucket seat. Seeing as you have a runaround now practicability means nothing and SPG's in my opinion are for alright for a normal car that gets driven daily. :) Yeah i've got the Revolutions with both sizes so by all...
Jack, yeah no worries. The driveability is the best thing about it and ecnomical also, the noise is nice as well ;)
Dont know of anyone local that has either of the turbo/sc'd conversion done.
focrs - Because there is far more fun in driving the car once it has been done, nothing's worse than having a car sitting there for over a year doing nothing because you want to come up with something yourself.
Thats peak figures... For decent duration of torque the JMS manifold is far greater, changing the power delivery on the engine was one of the best things about the kit. Plus a hell of lot cheaper than an ITB kit!
Also if your going to be using it on track IMO N/A is the way to go, engine and...
Lol normally I agree with some things you say but thats plain retarded! The guys a R-sport car dealer, he has probably driven more RS' of all ages than anyone else on here.
No.
No.
Fletch, are you going to have a tarts car or a car that your going to drive hard/use on track etc etc? If it's the 2nd then go for the revenges! Will feel like a mini race car and thats half the fun! :)
Completely disagree with being faster through some corners being more fun, that's tosh in my mind. But as always its different opinions...
For fun regardless of how fast your going, i'd be going with a williams. A standard VTS is right up there also...
RS-2's, shouldn't be even thinking about it really Dave! Just look at mine and how long they've lasted, plus there good on road and very good on track.
Alright chris, yeah got a Mk1 dash but just awaiting delivery. Got the dash and a Mk1 Ph1 steering wheel for £30 delivered so i'm happy with that!
Yeah going to attacking the mounts over the coming month, will bear them tips in mind! ;)
With the aerocatches, I think they'll be fitted...
Yeah did use them for about 5k miles, was using Vmaxx coilovers at the time and it stiffened the rear up nicely. Wasn't too savage with regards to oversteer and gave great turn in, far greater than the standard Vmaxx springs.
I do still have them also.
Cheers
Nick
Yawn, this is all so boring. Who really cares which one is quicker as there all relatively the same pace when it comes to real life, figures mean half of naff all!
To put it straight, the 172 cup and Trophy are the best drive out of the Mk2's. Ph1's good also only because of it feeling a...
Totally agree with enjoying the roads in a less powerful, more capable car, though that sort of power you could never get bored of! Frightenly quick i'd imagine!
