I've ran all my cars on 95 ron 99% of the time. Probably noticed a slightly higher mpg on 99 ron, but that can easily be achieved with a lighter right foot.
Performance wise I don't think it makes the blind bit of difference to an N/A engine. Turbos are probably a different story though.
gtisteve's old Arctic 182 on 96k, loads of upgrades including trophy recaros, carbon bonnet and loads of other bits, new turinis, solid engine mounts, yozza and decat. Both Belts need doing though.
My wife hates driving my clio's which is a good thing. My old iceberg was really low and she was used to a c max. She managed to smash the carbon splitter, not once, but twice. And denied it (even though it was the day after she'd borrowed the car).
