Made a start on fitting some new engine and gearbox mounts. I had a receipt for a gearbox mount bought by a PO but when I removed the battery this is what I found A standard gearbox mount. Who knows what happened to the solid one! Rather than buying just a vibratechnic gearbox mount it made...

Fitting a new gearbox mount I noticed a PO had snapped the bolt that goes into the turret from the cage. It's clearly been moving and I'm wanting to sort this out. Can I access the back of the bolt from the arch then weld a nut on? Bit of a ballache really.

I bought some used 60mm hubs that needed bearings and after advice from @Gus i soaked them in deox c. Bearings still need pressing out but this stuff is insane! Works much quicker if kept warm too but I had it in a cold cellar. My milltek also arrived and I gave it a wipe with brake cleaner...

There's a small dent on my bonnet high up. Looks like something has hit the bonnet from the inside (I'm thinking when the bonnet stay has been rivetted on or something) but it's caused it to raise up in one point. This bonnets a thousand times cleaner than my last but I was wondering whether...

My toyosports centre section did the same. I ran a bead of weld around it and then put a smear of high temp silicone on it.

You may have a bent rear stub axle.

Can I just knock out the flange with a socket and hammer? I'll be welding out the bearings and wanted to save myself a trip to a garage to get them pressed out as wanting to paint the hubs before new bearings go in.

Sounds amazing! Excited now. Also just made up a mixture of Deox-c (Thanks @Gus) and put my front hubs in there. Will give them a going over in the morning with a wire brush again, then let them soak.

Wanted a decent system for when i eventually take it to efi too! I will take a before and after driveby video when the time comes.
