by popping the glass out it makes it easier to get at the clips that hold it in and you dont have to risk scratching yoiur mirrors with your screwdriver. the glass pops in and out anyway so its not exactly taxing! id rather do that that damage my mirror

pop the mirror glass out and theres 4 clips inside the mirror push them out and the cover should pop off. im sure all renos of this era are the same

when your car goes for an mot they do NOT look for a cat, so even if your running a decat as long as the car passes its emissions test (which is possible even with a decat) then it will pass the mot (providing evryhting else is in order). ill see if i can find that ruling online now so back...
