Target is CS invitational at the start of July, I need it on the road for a couple of months incase any issues arise or it's electrical gremlins come back.
Little update, been sourcing parts for a couple of weeks so popped over the garage to do a few bits.
New tailgate struts as it kept cracking everyone in the head when open.
I've had the same air filter for 15 years, even though it's been washed re-oiled many times it's probably time for a...
Yeah me neither tbh, supercars are like supermodels, yes I'd love a go in one but it's never going to happen so what's the point.
I'm more interested in barn find restorations and budget engine swaps.
I don't get the hate, I remember when he was just a teenager with a cheap phone filming London supercar season and asking for passenger rides, from that he's built all this?
Fair play to him.
Footage of Kyle's roll racing crash, they think the right hand drive confused him and he went from 3rd to 2nd, lit up the rear wheels and straight into a telegraph pole, wasn't even his car.
This is quite an interesting watch, tales of possessed 'demon' cars where the people that come into contact with them either had terrible luck, mysterious accidents or died soon after, sounds like b*blocks but that's a hell of a lot of coincidences.
Took some parts over the garage today.
In those bin bags are it's original wheels with Rainsports, it's currently on track tyres covered in marble pickup, even moving it around at 20mph risks throwing you in a ditch on a wet day.
And a very heavy dead midget.
Turned out to be driveshafts...
He's not long made the transition from filming to racing, I've only seen him drag and roll racing on a track, I've never seen him on the street before.
My first track day was at Llandow, the briefing guy said "If you treat this track like an oval with a chicane you will crash".
After three laps I realised you only really need to brake for the chicane because the rest of the track was just an oval.
Oh great, no point rushing to finish the Clio then, no cool photos of the Dog Kennel with the sea on the background either, it's one of the main reasons I'm getting it back on the road.
Still no idea how he managed to do that, it's not a corner that's either fast or particularly difficult, he either kept accelerating into the ploughed field, or his brakes and steering failed at the same time.
Yeah the 'would be nice' bits are stuff like rear arb, PMS shifter, bucket seats, harnesses, also need a new headliner, but none of those bits are essential for getting it back on the road, so at the moment I'm only spending money on 'definitely need', once it's running with an MOT I'll start...
Saw a white R34 today, couldn't get a pic as he was going the other way.
It was utterly battered with scuffs, scrapes, no spoiler and looked nothing like this one.
Driveshafts please
Kiv in Bristol, I was going to message him for the other parts but I thought I'd try in here first.
You're a good bloke, I didn't tag you to hurry you along or anything, it was so I didn't end up getting offered a load of looms I can't buy because you're already sorting it.
I wasn't going to update this until there was more progress, but I realised it's probably a good place to try and source some parts before I start buying them off internet randoms.
The Clio went to the garage a couple of weeks ago partly to fill up a space in the yard, but mostly so it gets...
