If you're using the standard airbox there's not much point,
if you want a K-Tec style IK or V6 airbox then it's worth doing,
although saying that i'm using a V6 box and all i've done is remove the hoses,
the actual valve is still in place.
I can vouch for the boot being big enough to sleep in,
on a road trip in my mates 1.8 Sahp I slept in the boot and had a great nights sleep,
it's 6' corner to corner, there were 4 of us and I was the most comfortable out of all of us.
There's something wrong with me,
I get more excited over cars like the rusty Galaxy than I do mint polished trailer queens.

I don't even have a tent anymore, I lent it to someone and they broke it,
good job it was only £20 quid, i'll have to get something bigger this time round,
there's no way i'm fitting a 30 kilo German Shepherd in a 2 man tent,
f*cker will end up crushing me.
The little pipe near the throttle body is the breather pipe,
you can remove it and block the hole off on the inlet elbow,
it's just any oil that would get fed back into the inlet manifold will just drip into your engine bay.
I'm using a silicone pipe so I don't have the breather pipe at all...
The short answer is no, you can't buy replacement thumb grips.
However these are in the testing phase atm,
all going well i'm sure they'll be a few sets for sale in the future.

Without a more detailed description of where the knock's coming from and when it happens,
it's pretty hard to diagnose, it could be any number of things.
