Both my cars are now turbocharged, and I always without fail let the turbos cool down...matter of habit - sometimes I used to find myself letting the williams idle after a run!

I bought mine on 62k and sold it recently on 70k.
The guy thats just bought it has had the gearbox fail on him. I had nothing go wrong with it at all.

I drove a CTR the other day and it wasnt as quick as I expected.
Then, yesterday I went to bouremouth in the Lotus (running it in mind) and a CTR pulled away from me in front of me and it looked like it went pretty well, certiainly looked faster than the one I drove felt.

Yes I have just bought one.
I will bring it along to one of the meets next time you have one.
And its guarded day and night by 12 dobermans, 4 mini guns and an al qaeda sleeper cell.
Its been a dream of mine to own one for some time.

What has possessed you to want to change from a Williams to a 172?
I got £6,000 for my Williams 1, so you should be looking to get around that I spose. Depends how long you want to hold out for.
I wouldnt make that swap, but each to their own....

As Ed says leave it alone. Quad headlights look crap on any car (IMO) and anyhow what do you want to deface your williams for? They look fine as they are....

One JB3019 gearbox required....I think I have a couple, but if anyone has one I want it please...
My mates clio 16v gearbox died last nite - no 3rd at all, 1 and 2nd noisy and difficult to engage......
Only done 69,000 as well....

What you need are 2 small turbos.........like I have ;)
Sax, you raise some valid points...particualry about big turbos generating lots of lag...thing you get with s/c is a much more progressive torque curve...I would say a supercharger is a refined turbo charger...altho lets face it, in...
Of the 5 I looked at it was by far the best one, but also worked out by far the cheapest one - guy needed a quick sale (just what I like)...so eventually after many a frank and hard bargaining email and phone call, got him down to £10k. Started off at 14k...IMO and from what Ive seen of them...
I have always wanted one since a small kid...since I first saw it at the 1989 motorshow really...
Tech spec on the engine: 3615cc, twin charge cooled garret T25 turbos, DOHC 24v straight 6....developing 377bhp (at 5500rpm) and 419lb/ft (at 4200rpm)...and by god do you know about it when your...
Guy I bought mine from was called Darren!
Funny thing is that I have not seen a LC on the roads since I was at uni (about 3 yrs ago) where there was one that used to float around quite alot. And now I have mine what happens, I have seen 2 different ones in as many days!
Common as muck! ;)...
Must admit its in pretty good order for a 12yr old car. I saw about 5, and this was streets ahead of any of the others, in terms of condition, history and originaility....and what made it even better was the guy I bought it from was a really nice bloke, who was a proper enthusisast....and he...
Raj, everythings good - I have an airbox for you if you still want it....
I appreciate most of the comments made, thank you. Just to clarify the car is actually dark green (as they all were). Looks black I know, but I can assure you its green.
Lanky - what number did your dad have? And do...
Good god Rob, get over it mate - it hardly matters does it! I responded with tongue in cheek....
It is simply the most awesome car Ive ever driven....it was a boyhood dream for me to have one of these....
MPG - 30 on a run....but high teens on normal driving around town etc...
Dinky isnt...
What a surprise, I knew someone would have to say it.
The VIN decodes to a Lotus built at Hethel, the V5 states Lotus, the vehicle is officially Lotus type 104 (the experts amongst us will all know that each lotus has a type number assigned to it).....so therefore, its a Lotus.
:D
Rhys,
If you find a problem (sounds like a hole in the exhaust somewhere) Ive got some williams exhaust parts available for sale.
