    Supertech valves collets groove

Not quite so simple as that I’m afraid. You need to know the spring rate at the fitted length. Look on catcams site and it will give you the info about their springs to give you an idea. If you give the springs to much preload, it’ll hammer the tappets and sound like a diesel every time you...

Lost 5th Gear. Gearbox shat itself?

I see jc5’s do all weird and wonderful things mate. As a rule though, high torque loading and low rpm can exasperate these problems. That goes for any gearbox. However, there’s always the issue that something’s failed internally and got between the teeth on 5th. That creates a weak spot and the...

Lost 5th Gear. Gearbox shat itself?

Right you’ve lost teeth on 5th gear then mate. Those bits are right now acting like grinding paste to the bearings, synchros and remaining gears. I can never watch videos that are directly uploaded to the forum tbh. f**k knows why. So yeah, you need a rebuild or a replacement box I’m afraid.

Lost 5th Gear. Gearbox shat itself?

Does it physically select 5th gear, just no drive? I can’t watch the video as it won’t load.

You could make a detachable bracket and attach a rear fog light purely just for mot.

The everlasting ph1 ITB Build **GREEN-BUILD STARTS AT PAGE 100**

Needs a rear fog for mot otherwise it’s a fail. Pretty sure it needs to be in the right lamp too. Failing that, in the middle.

    The unicorn jc5

@Darren S Mainshaft bearing is finished The diff shaft has suffered some serious wear to the splines And what the dog teeth look like when they normally get abused, crap oil and no oil changes!

    The unicorn jc5

Well as I’m sure you all know, I rebuild quite a lot of jc5’s, so when I was asked to rebuild a box that had covered 165,000 miles, I was expecting the worst. Oh how wrong I was!! This gearbox is THE best one I’ve ever seen, and when you consider the mileage, it’s a unicorn! Lol! Here’s some...

Except for the horrific fan style of alloys they chose for the first gsi’s!

    Vauxhall 'Red Top' Appreciation Thread

Indeed they are! The next step of progression was to be a gt3076 and another shell. I’d got another mk3 shell that was going to be stripped and caged. I’d not decided if it was going to remain fwd, or be converted to rwd/4wd. Either way it was getting the independent rear suspension from the...

Peak boost was 2.3bar holding consistent at 2.1 ish. And a bit of weirdness for you - whenever I did a oil change on it, it would drink the first ltr of oil, then nothing. Oil level remained at the top of the dipstick! Lol! Custom fuel tank held 50ltrs and would manage around 200 miles...

    Vauxhall 'Red Top' Appreciation Thread

Here’s my old ‘lightly’ modified gsi. Exterior was kept looking as stock as possible. Under the bonnet was a LET in external appearance, but it had custom rods, pistons, cams, head work, inlet manifold, tubular exhaust manifold, proper turbo, injectors and a pectel t2 ecu with wrc spec loom. Oh...

    Clio 182 direnza Radiator

Any of the proper fabrication companies will stock the best cores mate. WRC spec cores are the usual ones, but they’re over £300/400 just for the core.

    Clio 182 direnza Radiator

You need a custom fabricated rad with a PROPER core. I had a golf direnza rad in my cup and whilst it kept on top of the cooling, when it was having its arse kicked at the Nurburgring, temps were marginally high. I even boxed it in to gain maximum efficiency, so I suspect without that it...

Reckon you could do one of my cup as a custom? Green wheels, smoothed green bullets, green mirror caps, green cup racer scoop and green roll cage. I have pictures I can WhatsApp over. 👍🏻

    Rear Strut Braces

I just can’t stress enough how important mounting harnesses correctly is. It’s not about getting cuntbook or instagay likes - this is about keeping yourself, your passenger and the poor c**t you drive into safe. It f**king rattles me to the point of micra rage @Scrooge

    Rear Strut Braces

Anyone who mounts harnesses incorrectly deserves the wheelchair tbqfh. If you’re going for aesthetics - go for it. But when it comes to safety critical items, there’s absolutely no cutting corners. You’d need to be a coin flicker to do anything less.
