Breaking cover......*AG content from page 45*

New laminova arrived today. This one has a 180mm long core. The old one was only 90mm, so it should bring the oil temps down significantly. I also opted for a forged 90 degree elbow and offset oil ports. I'll order some 16mm hose ends for the old laminova so I can fit it in one of the other...

The motors do fail @MarkX. I've known of a few people that have suffered the same symptoms as you and it was the motor at fault.

Balls, Snapped High Tensile Bolt :(

No problem. Off the top of my head no, as I have a snap on set. We have a local place that has them in stock as well, but obviously that's no good to you! You could try some fresh HSS bits and start small, then work your way up the sizes. You might get lucky.

Balls, Snapped High Tensile Bolt :(

You need a good quality set of cobalt drill bits mate. As you've found, HSS just gets laughed out of town. Start with a small size and use some form of lubricant to keep the tip of the bit cool.

Breaking cover......*AG content from page 45*

A few small bits to update the thread with! I've been addressing a couple of small issues the past week or 2 since getting the car back from efi. The first on the agenda was the oil pressure. I was seeing over 100psi when the engine was higher up the rpm range. The solution? Drop the sump off...

    Starter motor removal

You can get the starter motor out from between the chassis leg on the o/s. No need to remove exhaust manifolds.

    Gearbox

Yeah I do a lot of rebuilds on the jc5's mate. I'll drop you a pm mate with the details on. I can send you some details of what ratios can be found in which box as well, so this will help you determine which gearbox code you want to be looking out for.

    Tim's Forged LY R26

The issue is that the f4r is catastrophically w**k for oil pressure mate. The majority of them run very low pressure, even when they're at full chat! I'm at the other extreme with mine. Lol - I've got too much pressure!!

    Gearbox

Gripper diff and final drive would be my suggestion. Alternatively you could get a jb3 gearbox and hope for the best, but I strongly doubt it'll last.

    Upper Torque Mount (200)

Put a jack under the sump with a piece of wood to spread the load if it does. Job done.

    Upper Torque Mount (200)

I would imagine that you'll be able to just unbolt it and swap it over mate tbh. Even if it does move, it would only be a small amount and easy to move by hand.

RS Monaco Clio surprise (Renault Clio R.S.16)

They'll all be bought by gays that'll park them in a garage to 'add to their collection' and never use them properly.

    Timing......

Yeah that inlet cam is definitely advanced mate. It will give you a bit extra midrange grunt if anything, but nothing massive.

leaking selector seal, gearbox leak fix

Yeah strip the box and replace the seal and bushes mate. It's the only way to do it and fix it properly. None of this TND bodge s**t.

Yeah you can fit them to all the 1*2's. Can't remember which model it comes from though, so can't say for definite that the 197/200 item will fit.

I'd say it's very effective! I wonder what the equivalent air to oil cooler it would work out as. Definitely no more than a 10 row.

Breaking cover......*AG content from page 45*

That's going to be a job for this week mate. Dropping the oil and the sump so I can gain access. I'm pretty sure that the 100psi was the peak tbh, but until I venture further up the rpm range again and sit watching the op, I can't say for definite. Yeah it's the smallest one they do mate that...

As in the chain drive gear mate? If so, yes it is. The pump has been unshrouded and all the tolerances closed up, along with a few other choice bits of work. The prv spring has been shimmed to up the pressure, but tbh, the 197 head has far superior oil flow characteristics in comparison to the...
