From my experience it generally goes on which insurance company your with, How old you are and how many years no claims bonus you have. Its different for different people. Mine didnt go up at all but thats because im with adrian flux.

i bought my old 20gb ipod out in the USA. Bought the extended warranty, had no problems with compatibility and when the ipod died it got replaced with a refurbed one with no problem at all.
