Pah you'll have that all that done tonight ;)
Very glad to see it back though Mark and looking forward to seeing it once one you have done a few of the little mods you have instore for it :D
They are the same mate, as said you just need to drill the holes where the 2.0 ones are on your current subframe.Just phone up for a 1.2/ any other model clio subframe, get it and take your subframe off and drill the holes on the donor subframe where they are on your current subframe, job done!.
When i did my engine conversion on my car, the 2.0 litre subframe was bent :(, my 1.2 subframe is the same we just had to drill some more holes for where the fixings of the 2.0 engine go. So you should be able to get a subframe cheap enough as there are plenty of 1.2 and other types of clios...

From the insurance quotes i have it seems to be yea. Also with a hybrid you get the benefit of keeping the original cars tax. ie mine was a 1.2 16v so i pay £100 a year and that stays the same with the 2.0 in.
As ive got a lot of time on my hands at the moment i thought id treat myself to a model or two, came across this store that ships to the uk, he has loads of models and will combine postage on items as well!

Basically you swap the engine, driveshafts, steering rack, interior loom (speifically the dials), fuel pump sender etc. Ive done it to mine it took a fair amount of work but its getting there. I have a ph2 1.2 and had to swap pretty much...
Sounds like it could be a write off to me. IF the boot floor is damaged and the assessor didnt see that and still quoted £1000. Then a new boot floor will easily push the cost of the repair of the 50% barrier = write off.
