Sounds like it could be your resistor pack that needs changing. They are about £35 second hand. Easy to fit, just below the plastic front of drivers side windscreen

How/why do people not use it:S ? Set temp, press AUTO and away you go.... AC kicks in as and when needed. Mine gets plenty of use so don't see what this 3 days a year rubbish is...

I find the the ride and handling much better than standard springs in just about every way. Only slightly firmer. As for the shocks surely it would be cheaper/better just to get some new OEM shocks?
