Well this is a bit of a guess,a s my dad put it on, and before I ahd chance to look at what he meant... he ahd put the flywheel back on. I think he meants the lip sits tight against the crank, and outer edge to the block, however the depth isn't ass deep as the original seal, meaning it's...
Ermmm. Got the oil seal today from Renault. Fits in tight btu it's not as wide as the old one. Need confirmation it's the right one! ANyone changed one before? Know the dimensions of the seal? It is acctually the rear crankshaft oil seal. One at the gearbox end.
I need a new TV for my room. Doesn't have to be big, but not tiny. Looking at about 20" I guess? Don't want to spend much though, prices seem to be £200-£300+, so for that I'd want a good one and probably pay monthly.
Changing the front crankshaft oil seal (gearbox end) on a valver. Only just put the engine back in. Changed the seal already whilst clutch and gearbox were off. After finnally running the engine the other night with the car sat on the drive. Noticed after about 10 mins of running a large oil...

Tom, engines only just gone back in. Had it out, cleaned it, changed crankshaft oil seal, oil filter, rocker cover gasket etc so it's got to be a leak. Only place I can think of it coming from is between the engine and gearbox.
Looks like engine back out for me :(. Nights drawing in and lots of things at the weekends too so it's going to set the back on the road date a lot longer back :( Not happy.
Hey ho this thread is ages old but just discovered an Oil leak on my valver whilst running engine whilst it sat on the drive tonight :(. Still not badck on the road yet and a lot of work has gone into fixing this car :(. Seems to be coming from around the bottom of the gearbox/engine...
