in theory yes the shure ones do as they are just normal earphones except they just bung up your ear canal they are passive ones active ones have a micraphone that adds an inverted copy of teh outside noise to what ever your listening too so it removes it but they can affect the sound quality...

i hear the bose are very good for reducing noise just not that good for actual music reproduction
