he is simple dont worry :rasp: progressive means it refreshes teh tv picture all in one go online interlaced (regular tv's) that paint all the odd lines then all the even lines so the picture actually comes up in 2 bits trouble is all lcd tvs are progressive by nature they dont do...

i have always wanted to do some gig photos for my brother so i think the 50mm prime will do quite well especially for such a cheap price

just been recommended to get the tamron 17-50 to use with it as a good walk around lense that wont break the bank would that with the 50mm f1.8 canon prime be alright to get started with ?

yes vga as atechnology will go higher but the 360 wont and anyway the projecter will most prob only be a 720p one unless they havent gone for a home cinema one but an office one
