Ahhh, ok. Makes sense...
Is it going to cause me any problems (other than the nagging feeling at the back of my mind that the car isn't perfect :o)?
Is it time for me to by the BTB Stealth that I've wanted for ages? Damn!
Definitely not the interior plastics! :)
My car seems to have developed a metallic buzzing noise that seems to be present when in or out of gear at the above rev range.
There is no loss in power and the car feels as healthy as ever!
It's an OE exhaust - according to the previous owner, the backbox is only about a year old and I have...
Personally, I've never used them, so can't comment from experience. To play Devil's advocate, I just wanted to delve a little deeper (all too many people on CS paraphrase - incorrectly) and I wanted to cut out the bullsh!t.
After reading KFS's report above though, I would steer clear. :)

^ I heard AWT provided an *excellent* matched inlet service?
My car has also been serviced by AWT at a few points in it's life. In fact, the previous owner was pretty gushing about them! :S
"synonymous with failure" - as you intimate, that's subjective - but it'd be interesting to know about...
^ So best to stick to a ELF Tranself 75W-80 (GL-4+) product as mentioned in the handbook?
Dammit!
Just bought 4 litres of Fuchs TITAN SINTOFLUID 75W80 (A GL-5 fluid :dapprove:). Opie Oils website states that this is a recommended fluid for use in - amongst others - Renault gearboxes.
EDIT...
Thanks for the input about shear-ratings Henry. Unfortunately, it appears that ELF's letter-based system may be defunct now (ie - TRX isn't made any more) :(
What are the advantages (if any) of using a 75W-90 GL-5 (Silkolene Syn 5 75W90) fluid over a 75W-80 GL-5 (Fuchs TITAN SINTOFLUID 75W80)...
^ Just seen a thread where a bloke mentions TRX isn't made any more!*
See what I mean, confusion at every turn! :S
* EDIT: ELF's site seems to back this up - Only NFP and NFJ are listed. NFP (API GL-4+) has "Renault PXX" next to it?
Right, I'm massively confused.
I've been searching on here for AGES looking for recommendations for transmission/ gearbox oil to go in my 172 Cup. There are literally hundreds of threads on the topic, yet no definitive answers!!
Anyone know Renaults exact specification and quantity (I assume...
^100% agree.
It's also NOT the 1-man-army fest that MW2 is. A lack of gay auto-regenerating health makes you play in a slower, more considered way - Its all about the teamwork...
Interactive movie? Not for me cheers...
Saw the first 9 minutes the other day and it involved you interacting with a toilet and a razor.
Pffft - my time's worth more to me than to make a virtual character go to the loo.
If it's a keeper, I'd probably offer no more than £1500 - purely because it's been registered and he'll struggle to sell it for much more.
If it's to sell? I'd probably go with your gut and avoid it. Don't underestimate the great unwashed and their "fear" of the unknown (their loss in this...
Let us know what it's like lads! First time I've been pi$$ed at not owning an Xbox! (When Splinter Cell: Conviction comes out will also be difficult! :))
I suppose it's the luck of the draw. You might get lucky or it may be a false economy...
I bought a 2003 172 Cup that had a FDSH and a folder full of receipts (inc. oil/ filter receipts for 6k mile services), yet I've still had to spend a huge amount on fixing things. Within the first 4 months...
