That is my opinion within the context of this thread and to the question posed by the OP (essentially funding modifications to a car using finance).
In hindsight, it may have been a sweeping statement, specifically with regard to 0% deals which, if managed correctly, can be beneficial for the...
Should I do this BEFORE or AFTER fitting my new discs and pads?
My thoughts are after but I'm interested what you guys think and/ or if there is a convention.
Cheers for any help! :)
Some people really are retarded. Hope you get it sorted quickly!
Someone once told me that eucalyptus oil (very cheaply available from your local pharmacy) will remove tar spots.
I can confirm that it works on small areas like the lower front wing and bottom part of the door... :)
^ I think you're missing the point.
You're assuming I have a mortgage?
Regardless, a mortgage is a loan on property that - all things being well - will accumulate in value.
The OP was referring to buying Clio modifications on finance. Not really comparable.
Nice RB!
996's aren't that popular - one reason could be that they are reputed to have a disproportionately high percentage of engine failures IIRC. :S
EDIT: WTF? Kitting up a Carrera as a GT3 is one thing, but re-badging it? Reeks of little man syndrome... Peasant.

I live at home (my own home, not my parents home - which is what I think you were implying? :)) and I pay for everything from my own pocket (not one of your options!) because I have a job. Credit is a mugs game.
My car has been a labour of love... :S
I bought the car in June '09 with a FSH but needing some consumables (pads appeared to have a few k left, but discs were past their best). Oh, the engine mounts were also fooked and the steering wheel was like something out of a Dali painting!!).
Well, I...
^ Totally agree - sounds cool!
It's basically a UV-stable (won't discolour over time) clear paint protection film. It's cut and shaped to compliment the shape of the body and is almost invisible when fitted correctly.
Google it, it's brilliant stuff, especially if you're getting a respray...
^ To be fair, I recall that standard 182 pads are made by Ferodo and are and upgrade from stock 172 items. Not sure on the validity of the claim though...
Personally, I've gone for Brembo HC discs and Mintex 1144 pads - I've had uprated discs and pads on other cars and have been pleasantly...
The fluid is hygroscopic, which means it absorbs moisture over time - FWIW: moisture lowers the boiling point of brake fluid...
As a general rule-of-thumb you should replace it every 2 years.
Thanks for your informed and educated contribution. You must work for the Government?
I think the Cup owners getting 'defensive' are actually realists. A Cup is no worse to drive than ANY other car in this weather. FACT.
In these conditions, another 900kg isn't going to make a discernible...
I've just bought Brembo HC's and Mintex 1144's from Pete at Auto-Nation (a Cliosport Trader).
I opted for HC's because I was worried that track-oriented pads would eat OE discs quickly and for the price Pete quoted for the HC's it didn't make sense to go for OE discs.
He's a top lad and his...
