I can think of 3 or 4 ways of blocking that off of the top of my head :rasp:
Anyway, back to the issue at hand.
goto a command prompt.
type
ping www.google.com
you should get a reply something like:
C:\Windows\system32>ping www.google.com
Pinging www-tmmdi.l.google.com [66.102.9.106] with...
Yeah, seriously. :-) Got my V+ box and it died about 2 weeks later (wouldn't boot at all) they first said "we can have one to you tomorrow morning", but I couldn't make the appointment due to work.
About a month or two later the replacement's hard drive died and I could no longer access v+...
Virgin are also pretty damn good with sending engineers out as well. Wwhenever I've had an issue they've generally had someone out the next morning. (all issues with V+ box hard drives dying)
We moved from Messagelabs to Websense Hosted (used to be Blackspider). Saved an absolute bloody fortune, and it just works.
Postini is owned by Google, so it's probably the same thing.
finsihed it this afternoo. What a fantastic little game. Some fiendish little puzzles in there, and some fantastic deaths. Christ knows how many times you'll have to play it through to get the 5 lives or less achievment.
To root a Desire with proivder firmware you have to generic-fy it first anyway using a Gold Card.
So you end up with a non-orange firmware anyway. Which is always a bonus.
The app store isn't massive, but there are multiple app stores out there as well.
Also, I like the fact I can download an app from anywhere. Most apps I've found on the web while surfing on my PC are easy to install as well, they generally have a QRCode on the webpage, so just load up a...
I fecking love this game :-)
I'm finding it amusing to leave my campaign on "anyone can join", I've had a dude giving me helicopter support by blowing the crap out of all the enemies, last nigth I had some guy, using the magnetic mine things, carry my car under a 'copter and drag it through a...
Not really. iOS to Android is a fair comparisson. If he was comparing a specific handset though, your right, but it's all about the different user experience and that's what he was comparing, the features of the OS. Yes iPhone 4 has some OS features not on the previous handsets, but none of...
Looking around, it seems to be an issue that occurs for quite a few people.

It would appear that the program forks off two processes every time it does it. So leave it for long enough and it'll...
You can if you have a Android 2.2 phone (like my Nexus) as 2.2 supports full blown flash 10.1 and not flash lite like the HTC Desire (and I expect the Galaxy as well), so any site that use flash works exactly like it does on your PC.
Cheers, I'll give that a try.
for the moment I just redirected the passenger side ons to shoot onto the drivers side, unfortunatly, the faster I go the less actually reaches that side :-(
1080p is a resolution of 1920*1080, giving 2073600 pixels.
5mp has 5 mega pixels, which is 5242880 pixels. (equivalent of about 3053*1717 in the same aspect ratio as 1080p)
Sounds like your PC is old and slow and can't handle the software.
What version of windows do you run?
Whats the spec of your machine? (processor speed, memory)
Does it do it when the phone is connected to the PC?
Whatever you do, do not send your phone back, it has nothing to do with the phone.
I would also like to know this.
My Passeneger side is OK, but my drivers side doesn't spray at all.
Had a pin down the front, had the hose off and had a poke around in the back. There seems to be plenty of pressure to the hose, as if I have the jet disconnected it sprays everywhere.
I have fairly fat fingers, but the HTC IME input method is fantastic, I use it on my Nexus one because it's so superior. It's version of predictive test is very forgiving for errant letters.
If you use it for a while and just watch the suggestion bar you will notice that it will autocorrect...
I'd back up all your stuff if I was you :-)
Either that or you had a memory stick plugged in and it was trying to boot off of that. I once ended up taking my PC apart trying to figure out why it didn't boot only to realise I had left my phone plugged in and it was trying to boot off of the SD...
I have a 512mb ext3 and a 512mb swap partition in addition to a 15gb fat32 partition.
All of my installed apps are moved to the ext3 partition which means i have more free memory as well.
Not all aps will even give you the ability to install to SD anyway. You wouldn't want your messenger apps...
The 2.2 apps toSD isn't the best thing. It puts the apps to yourmemory card yes, but that means when you plug itinto your PC and it dismounts the memory card you lose access to those apps.
This is why it's on an app per app basis and it has to be allowed by the app designer (though you can...
As realnumber 1 says, Modaco do have a version for the Desire of 2.2, BUT you lose all of the Sense UI and all the other HTC mods.
It's basically a version of the Nexus One version of 2.2 (which is now offically out) tweaked to run on a Desire (like they did in reverse to get the Desire 2.1...
defo sync with outlook and then pull from outlook.
I've done this going from manufacturer to manufacturer a couple of times (nokia>ericsson>lg>android)
Then again, this is why I have people in my address book I haven't talked to in 6 years :-)
Also, if you have a terminal app and root and run "top" (linux version of task manager (sort of)) you will notice that every single background app uses the same %age of memory, you will see 6 or 7 apps all using 35% memory.
It's like windows 7, people say "it's a memory hog I have no free...
What I have noticed is that battery life is pretty good with a stable mobile connection, but as soon as you get a bit of a dodgy connection it eats the battery trying to find something better. Whenever I go into London and spend any time on the tube my battery goes bye bye really quickly. Both...
Jeez, you're sounding worse than the most rabid apple-fanboi. You almost make me want to ditch Android and buy an iPhone just so I won't be associated with you.
Do you mean modem or do you mean router?
The modem being the e thing that you plug the co-ax cable into. Router being the thing that you plug all your devices into and does the wireless.
You could use as many routers as you like, but probably only one modem, the modems are registered with...
