i just contacted complaints dept was dealing with a Simone Hagan, She basically just told me that i had to speak to the dealership but agrees that this shouldnt happen.
Spoke to the manager at the dealership and told him i had put a complaint into RenaultUK about the state of the steering...
LOL did tell him that it was a common fault, they have a 02 plate 172 in the showroom which they fitted a brand new steering wheel too cause the last one was fooked so he already knew
spoke to Renault Uk about the state of my steering wheel in the fact that it is falling apart quite badly, Got an email from them this morning saying that they agree it shouldnt be falling apart after 40k but I will need to take it to the local dealer to let them see the wheel.

can make a claim , ut they love to drag their heels over claims like it, get photographs of the pothole / damage and estimates for the repairs and chance it
sorry mate but i deal with this sort of stuff all the time in work, and if you have a reciept to proove the cambelt was changed, and it has failed in under 5 years or the mileage your in a good position to claim against the garage for it, we pay them most of the time
