I had a CTR (facelift EP3) for ... 3 weeks! Vtec was fun and gear box was awesome but the steering was rubbish in my opinion, it just felt dull in terms of handling, stiff and twitchy. I also tried an ABP Motorsport fast road set up to see if my car was duff but it was still just as bad! - Keep...
Nice car, I always wanted one of these, bought one and loved the engine and box but the steering wasn't a patch on the clio's in my opinion so I flogged it!
I love the V6's, my friend ran one for around a year (ph2) It wasnt about going quick though for me, just the experience of being in it and the presence they have was more than enough to win me over!
I always found that with my elise you had to be very positive in turn in to allow the front end to bite and also load the front end up with the brakes before turn in, if you were not it tended to understeer. Thought it was an awesome car though, and held more speed round corners than anything...
I leave mine on, I find with smooth driving (even when on the limit) it doesnt trigger much, only if I try to upset the balance of the car - even then I dont find it cuts in that badly. Unless your looking to do wheelspins or get the car into a huge drift I dont see the need to turn it off...
Ive got a nice Ultra Red 197 for sale - you know it makes sense!
Seriously though, you wont regret it, ive had a 2 197s, a 182 cup and a 172. The 197s are just awesome straight out of the box!
My 197 R27 had those recaros, at 11k miles they were showing no signs of wear, however I was really careful how I got in and out of it as I knew it was a problem. The standard seats I have in my current 197 are fine at 25k :D
Sounds awesome, although on some of the very high speed bits it almost sounds like its misfiring?! specially against the corvette. (2.10 on the Corvette vid)
If your ever at a meet (and I manage to get to one) Is there any chance of a ride down the road in it?! im wanting to do something with mine in terms of suspension!
Id guess the elise would have the clios upto about 60/70 then the clios would gain on the elise. I used to have an elise and it had slow acceleration over 80. Great cars though!
