I've had two repaired in the last 2 months, the last one was very close. They used a sort of clear bar chart on the tyre to see how close it could be and it was just in.

They are right then, as it's too close to the sidewall. THere is a ratio to how close you can go.

GSF sell Mintex Extremes, but when I asked they had to order them in. EBC Greenstuff is what I got in the end on my Clio, much improved now and going off people said, they were a cheap replacement. As I had them once before and hated them, they fall apart and over heated on my old cars.

Sell it to your Mrs. You will still get to drive it and it'll save you the pain of trying to sell it as there are plenty of 1*2's about, so your probably end up letting it go for £6k anyway.

I turned mine off when I had my 172. Or you can just dis-connect the battery if you like. It's sensor at the top of your windscreen below the rear view mirror.
