I had the same thing on my 182, had to have the cambelt off etc. It was all under warranty so wasn't too bad. The car seemed to have a tiny bit of heavy idle though after, but there was nothing I could do / get changed to fully cure it.
I'd stick with the superglue option.
A similar thing happen to ours only about a week after we had it (talking about a year and half back now) a line about half inch in from the left and half way down the screen. Managed to replace it, ours in the 42-PV500
