In my opinion - steer clear of the long reach zoom lenses like the 18-200mm - they sacrifice quality for the reach
You need to work out what you need more - the flexibility or a nice low aperture
I've got the 24-70 f2.8L which is a fantastic walking around lens but it's £1k new :(

What's the actual deal with buying new wheels for a 172 cup?
The standard offset is 38 or something? but all the wheels I'm looking at are ET40
How much real life difference is it going to make?
The standard wheels sit quite well into the arches - so is it worth getting some 5mm...
Probably the same reason that I had a 100bhp quiksilver for 5 years, then a 106 gti for over a year - and now have a clio cup
106 gti's pre-2000 are quite rusty and expensive to maintain - then 2002/03 plate cars are worth 4-5k
Clios are currently 2 a penny - I picked up my 53 plate for...
No - you're obviously an argumental heavily biased tw*t
Everyone on here who discusses 106 gti VS clio 172 agrees they each have strong and weak points - and on a track they are pretty similar
I went on a clio session at FCS last year in my 106 gti - and was sticking with them all the way...
LMFAO - you really do want to open a can of worms don't you
Standard for standard a 106gti and 172cup or 172 are about equal
The 172's have a bit more oomf in a straight line but a 106 is quicker on corners
The lad who posted on here has a black stripped out and modded 106 gti - and ricky...
What the f**k are you talking about - reduces stress on what?
Driveshafts? Clutch? Gearbox?
Course it increases acceleration - energy isn't wasted in the engine rocking backwards - its applied directly to the driveshafts and the wheels and forward motion of the car
I just don't get why...
That's pretty much the first sign that the mounts are going :)
Mine was the engine top mount (drivers side) - if you get hold of the top of the engine you could move it back and forth about an inch lol
LMFAO - ermmm you clearly don't have a clue
Turning the bottom mount around - your loosening the mount in the casing and reducing some movement on the bottom end which puts more stress on the top end mounts
The engine doesn't "NEED" to move at all - the cup car engines have mounts welded...
Pikey solution! lol
Mine were ok when they were first fitted - but my dash vibrates now between 2-4k rpm
Saying that I had the top of the dash off to fix the alarm a few weeks back - and I think it's rattling about because it's been removed and refitted a few times
I'm just gonna put...
I'm gonna agree sort of with both Tom and Fred
My standard mounts were FUBAR and everytime I accelerated the exhaust was hitting the subframe
I got an uprated dogbone mount for the bottom of the gearbox (powerflex) - but it didn't solve it
So I fitted a full set of K-Tec group N mounts
I...
Cheers guys - took me about 30 mins
Managed to undo the belt and unbolt the alternator - then lift the alternator out onto the top of the slam panel with the cable still attached
Then smashed all the plastic cover off the back and you can get a 17mm spanner on the back of that terminal to stop...
It doesn't matter a fook what other people think anyway - that mentality cracks me up - it's your car
I couldnt give a flying s**t if people like mine or not - I love it :D
That's about the right price for a 50D - and as I keep saying there is a £65 cashback voucher you can send to Canon too
The 40D is old and not really well stocked anymore - as the 60D will be out in a few weeks/months
I can't really because the cable turns with the bolt - and it will only move so far before it snaps off
I feel that replacing that cable wouldn't be fun :(
Tried again tonight - can't get that nut undone that holds the main power cable on
The entire thing just spins in the alternator :(
Any ideas? I'm considering smashing the plastic cover off so I can get a spanner on the base of that terminal to stop it turning around
You've just made my day!!!
Now I've just got to get that bloody nut off of the main power cable without cutting/snapping the cable - damn thing is really rusted on :(
