You could be right with the starvation issue. I now think its temp related
Just dropped the gf to work, and on way home I wanted to check it had completely went, temp gauge was just under middle at this time, took it to 5 and it spluttered gain, jumpin up and down between 5k and 6k, exhaust was...
On regards to the plugs, they would cause a lumpy idle right? Because the car constantly has a lumpy idle, you can feel the whole car shaking/vibrating slightly. It's not just when cold either
The water temp gauge was in the middle, that's all I know temp wise! It did sound like it was missfiring, and it was between 5 and 5.5, it didn't stay level either, he spluttered up (I.e power disappeared completely at 5,2 and kept "limiting" upto 5,5.
Just the weird thing I put fuel in, and...
Right, I'm either gonna sound thick as s**t, or I have found something I didn't know! On the way to the petrol station, pulled out of the slip road, floored it up the road, engine is warm, temp gauge in middle, and then all of a sudden I limited at 5-5.5, the gear change symbol didn't light up...
Yeah I can see where your coming from, but I think he needs to lay it on thick with the manager here. Maybe take them to progrip so they can be shown properly what the problem is. The manager at this second dealer has the opportunity to make it all right here, and not have to spend a penny...
Not 100% for clios, but other cars iv seen it done on is piss easy, although pretty useless. You need to splice in to the ignition wires, and wire the button u.
Pretty easy. But you still need the car in the ignition for ye immobiliser to work. And unless you have a second switch to power up the...
You need to ring RUK up and explain that equipment at these dealers are not showing a fault. Offer them to get an independent check (which you have all ready) and then present them with the report. Just tell them the equipment at these dealers isn't advanced enough, and just mention you will be...
I have the same problem with my temp display (sometimes it shows 60 degrees, now its nothing), instead of making a new thread, how do you check with the multimeter?
Surely there has to be some sort of law/legislation that says "you did the work, car is no longer safe/fit for purpose". I dont have a clue about things like this, but have you tried Citizens advice? I would what that other guy said, give them a very detailed itemised bill/invoice, a report from...
Brilliant thanks again for the help mate. I take it changing the shaft isn't difficult?
And about the rear, that's what I was going to do. So if the bearing is pressed in, it's exactly the same near enough as fitting any other disk!
Thanks again mate
You can take the back off without voiding warranty can't you? It's only if you take a certain part off it voids the warranty (the battery IIRC) although this is what I saw on an eBay vid so could be completely wrong
Thanks mate
How much do the shafts go for, do you know? Everyone I mentioned it to said swap the shafts. So I'll do that then. The rear are simple enough to do ain't they? Wheel bearings I mean
Thanks again
Thanks a lot Paul! Just wanted to make sure nothing was unplugged that shouldn't be, I just seem to keep finding random unplugged plugs everywhere!
Thanks again for clearing that up
Hi guys
Basically, next to my dial light adjustment roller switch thingy, someone has kindly drilled a hole wherethe TC button goes. Now, there is also 4 plugs behind that panel, are any of them for TC? Was curious if it was removed for some reason... It's a 51 plate btw. Some pics:
Back on track anyway.... The clio is all right, MOT until next Jan, tax till July. 80kish on the clock, he reckons belts where done last year but I will do them anyway. Needs a CV joint and a possible wheel bearing, noticed today that some lights don't come on when I turn the key on, so hope...
Strange enough... The battery light has just started working... I see your in Nottingham? While I'm here could you quote me a price for wheel bearing/cv joint? Well not a definite wheel bearing, I jacked all 4 corners up and span each wheel, no untold noises. Yet there is a whining noise getting...
