New driveshaft still to go on, oil seal side so new box oil too.
A&B pillars might get done in headlining material, I'm not so sure but Ryan thinks it'll look good a tie in the headlining, plus we've got a load of material left over.
I've got the sun visors and some interior plastics to clean...
Headlining done with suade
Took most of the afternoon to do it right, potato phone decided to f*ck the photo up but you get the idea.
This as as far as we got today, new passenger seat that isn't covered in shite and seat base mocked up with threaded rivet nuts in the factory seat holes...
Headlining's out, most of the old glue came off with the lining so minimal prep work required to glue new stuff on, not that I did any of it.
So far I've fitted an air filter, a breather filter and some seat sliders, speaking of which, these were an arse to fit.
It already had sliders but...
I'm always the last one up, most of you wage slaves talk a good game but you're all done by 11pm.
I quit drinking years ago and I sleep in the car, tents are for the homeless.
I just bought this for £120, it's not fancy but it fits my middle-aged arse, even has sliders fitted.
A mate gave me an omp base, so I just need a pack of big bolts and I'm good to go, it can be done on the cheap.
I've been looking for seats recently and I've seen all sorts for sale.
If you just want some comfy seats with the option of a harness, there's plenty of factory fitted Recaros for sale on FB marketplace, they're not fixed buckets and you'll need to buy mounts, but if you're budget conscious it...
First thing i'd say is try sitting a few different people's cars with bucket seats, some are mega comfy, some are hardcore race seats.
You going full fixed bucket or recliner?
I know recliners aren't ideal with harnesses, but for a road car that does the occasional track day it might be worth...
Recently I've been enjoying the Rootes group archives, they're very twee and quaint with narration very much in the "Good day sir" style, I'm finding them fascinating.
Monte Carlo rally with laps of the Monaco GP circuit as it was in the early 60's, back when health and safety were just two...
Originally the camping was at a separate site, but the campfire piss ups became more of an event than CSF, so it was all combined to make it more of a festival atmosphere, hence the name.
I get that people want to be comfy and well rested on what is essentially a weekend holiday, but with less...
I think it's just a confidence thing, I can't even remember what the Clio feels like to drive, I'm sure it'll come back to me once it's back on the road, be a shame to miss out on the Gentleman's club.
That's not how Clio's work and you know it, as soon as I hear that engine screaming I'm going to go full r*tard and stamp on it, I have very poor impulse control when I get excited.
I do have an evening at Donnigton booked for the CS Invitational which will be my first track day in 6 years, it'll actually be the first time I've driven the Clio or anything fast in 6 years.
I just don't have the confidence I once had when the Clio was working, it's been a long time since...
Unless you drive through fluids, then you've got no choice.
I'll have to watch some onboards then decide, I just don't like how close the concrete barriers are to the track.
Not sure I'm willing to risk my freshly rebuilt Clio on a track that looks like it wants me in a concrete wall, I've not been on track in years and that looks very tight and technical with very little margin for error.
