Yes, did a trackday the day before racing there for the 1st time, back in 2021. Nearly killed the car on Race 2 but still an epic track.

So far I've narrowed it down to 3 places that don't have events confirmed for the 11th, Pembrey, Cadwell and Silverstone.

Not sure I'm willing to risk my freshly rebuilt Clio on a track that looks like it wants me in a concrete wall, I've not been on track in years and that looks very tight and technical with very little margin for error.

I went on to the grass there when I was chasing an Astra VXR and got myself into a mess. Great fun.

Only close at Hall Bends, the rest is quite a bit of room.

I do have an evening at Donnigton booked for the CS Invitational which will be my first track day in 6 years, it'll actually be the first time I've driven the Clio or anything fast in 6 years.

I just don't have the confidence I once had when the Clio was working, it's been a long time since I've pressed an accelerator in aggression.

I’m sure once you’ve got Donington out of the way, you’ll be buzzing to tick Cadwell off. Plus, Cadwell won’t be with a bunch of strangers pushing each other off the track. There’ll be a lot of respect of space.

That's not how Clio's work and you know it, as soon as I hear that engine screaming I'm going to go full r*tard and stamp on it, I have very poor impulse control when I get excited.

I've only ever seen one person being mocked for being slow and that was only because their numberplate said FAST - just go as fast as you feel comfortable Dave, gets some tuition after you've done a few laps and you will be ok.

I think it's just a confidence thing, I can't even remember what the Clio feels like to drive, I'm sure it'll come back to me once it's back on the road, be a shame to miss out on the Gentleman's club.

There will be loads of people there willing to take you for some passenger laps too. You can come out with me but I'm sure others will be quicker!

I've only had 1 moment at Cadwell and I've been a few times, that was in the rain on AR1s so it was bound to happen, even then it wasn't that bad and I didn't leave the tarmac. Just don't drive like your arse is on fire like a c**t
