Never been in a car that rattles this much though, its embarassing when my mate gets in, they all appear and his corsa, granted is only 2 years old and isnt a renault but its soooo damn quiet, not a whisper of a creak.

I love mk1s - could quite easily get another newer clio but to be honest I dont like them all that much (apart from racing blue 182s). Just been to the scrappy and picked up a few bits for the valver - or at least tried to - no-one holds them anymore - there were 10 mk2s to every rn/rt on...

Aye, heh its a good little roundabout is that - especially coming back over the tops from bolton at night - it is slightly concerning though that I can get round it quicker in the work van than the valver - somethings not inspiring confidence in the beast!

OOoo yes get those pics up - Love this car, really really like the black 172s too. Infact when I was thinking of getting a 172 I was going to get the same colour as you and transfer my silver willy wheels onto it - Dont know of anyone whod done that yet. :D

aye phase 1 valver - you can juts make out the old 16v badge next to the clio and its got the b pillar badges too - what a shame! I cant actually see anthing that looks salvageable either - at least let others sort there cars out if your gonna kill a classic!

christ! well thats stopped the idea of getting rid of the valver right in its tracks! What kind of performance drop would there be if the 1.8 block was used as a starting point? i know a megane head would be needed to fit the boddies but will it still make 200bhp?

I thought the valver came in a better overall package when i test drove the gti - both same price and the valver was in worse condition but I bought it as it was better - its just that darn engine they have in the 106 its so easy to get power from!
