280 bracket is approx 420g on my kitchen scales in S275 steel.

Not good that. At all. I could knock some up in steel instead but they will obviously have a weight penalty.

I have a Norbar pro one that I aquired from work 20 odd years ago and a Silverline on from Amazon. Both are more than capable for the car. AA members get 10% off at halfords too.

Sounds like a well looked after car but anything over 100k and people seem to label it as high mileage, which is bolloks for the age of the car. I'd say somewhere between £2.5-3k.

The amount of owners doesn't affect the condition of the car though. I'm the 5th owner of mine and it's battered ?. I just bought a 1 owner 03 clio and that looks like it's been washed with scotch brite and driven through a desert even though it's been garaged all its life. With old cars there...
